Australia need 399 to win. Current score is 14-0

Shane Warne reckons that Dave Warner will make a big score today.

Edit; Broad has just bowled Harris for 9. 18-1

Broad claims Warner again!!
c Burns B Broad 11
38-2!! would be nice to see Broad end with a 5 wicket haul, he deserves that at least need to get Smith out cheaply to have any real chance to wrap the game up and draw the series

WICKET! Labuschagne st Bairstow b Leach 11

AUS 56/3 (16.3 overs)

Leach finds a bit of extra turn and Bairstow is so quick with the gloves. Labuschagne tries to get back but he hasn't got his foot down.

Longer Smith sticks around, the more chance Australia have of winning

ENGLAND CRICKET SUMMER 2019 - MY END OF TERM REPORT

Well, we're nearly at the end of another summer of cricket in England. Just the county championship to be decided, and it looks like Somerset will be county champions. At the start of it, We had the World Cup and an Ashes series to look forward to, plus a Test against of the new Test boys, Ireland which turned out to be a pretty ruthless affair in the end.

The World Cup in my mind was very much up for grabs for several nations but I hoped England would lift the trophy and along the way we unearthed a new bowling sensation in Jofra Archer. Tall and quick he spearheaded England's one day team bowling attack with such precision, that certainly gave England a vital edge when the batting fell into disarray which happened on several occasions. But the Final itself was perhaps highlight of the summer for me Who could have predicted the finish as it was? The 2019 Final will live long in the memory of those who were there, who watched it on TV the first live free to air match for probably nearly ten years or more, and it was one to savour.
At the end of it one team stood proud at the top of the pile, ENGLAND our first World Cup win and one on home soil and that's something special.

We all felt after that euphoric win we could follow it up with a Ashes victory but it was not to be. One many occasions, England dug themselves into a hole and couldn't get out of it and by the time we reached the Third Test we were one down with two play, so only a victory would keep our Ashes hopes alive and Ben Stokes stepped up and history kind of repeated itself. Like Botham in '81 Stokes lit the touch paper to a fuse paper with a finish that probably 'Beefy' couldn't have scripted better himself as he pummelled his way to 135 not out to level the series, but we were outdone by Australia at Old Trafford as they won the Fourth Test to retain the Ashes. We lost the Ashes but we could still level the series and we did so.

So, overall at one day level we have got a team to be proud of, but at Test level I would say there is probably a little more work to be done to get the team into a settled state, and I would not be surprised with the winter tours to South Africa (four Tests) and New Zealand (two Tests) and two home series with the West Indies and Pakistan to look forward to next summer, we may yet see one or two new faces appear in the order before the start of summer 2020.

And finally congratulations to Reed Cricket Club on winning the national village cricket Final as they are from my home County Hertfordshire.

Bloody Sun today should be bloody Ashamed of themselves

Story about Ben Stokes and the fact his mother had 2 children who were brutally murdered by her first husband after she left him for Bens dad

WHY is this in the public interest ? and the fact they sent a Journo to New Zealand to harras his mother and family to get reaction to the story !!

Highlights
Stuart Broad made Dave Warner his bitch. Broad got him out 7 times in 10 innings, scoring only 95 in toto
England found an opening batter in Rory Burns.
Ben Stokes is good enough to in the England team on batting alone.
Jofra Archer is as good in test cricket as he was in the limited over series.

Steve Smith is a world class batsman. He scored 774 runs with an average of 110.6. And this was just in 7 innings.

Both Smith and Rory Burns defy the coaching manuals with their approach to batting.

It is the Sun (rag - not news) - question asked and answered - better class of paper in my bathroom, for another reason entirely!

I would say it was clearly a possible private family matter that should NOT have even made it into public domain and probably made uncomfortable reading for Ben himself. Hope the family decodes to sue the paper, that is something that if it WAS a private matter should have stayed private and the Sun should be made to reveal its source in Parliamentary committee
