yet they won 5-0!! And am I right in thinking they have no Real Madrid players in their team?

Lots of twists and turns in tonights matches. (best group of the contest). So far England have been facing Germany, France, Hungary and Portugal at some time tonight.

Currently we will be facing Portugal and Germany will be out. But just one goal will change all that.

That was a wonderful day's football.

The matches today had everything - goals, saves, incident, drama, changing fortunes... what a brilliant day to showcase the tournament and everything that makes the game great. What a day. Smile

What a crazy night

Thinking Gareth might need Stan Boardman on the touchline with him on Tuesday lol as his secret weapon

I'd rather see Gareth put out a team that's set up to attack the Germans from the off, rather than one set up like it has been throughout the group stage. Beating the Germans would be nice in a tournament for once, it would be a big lift to the country but I don't think this Gerrman is beatable as everybody think it is. It will more than likely only take one moment of madness that would put us out. In the other game I would love Wales to beat Denmark but think there is far too much up front for Denmark for Wales and hope Belgium llive up to that 'No.1 team in the world' billing and get rid of Portugal and that smugface Ronaldo.

But please God, don't let it go to penalties on Tuesday.....

My selected fantasy eleven based on performances and results from the third and final round of the group stage:-

3-4-3:-

Goalkeeper
1 - Patricio (Portugal)

Defenders

3 - Christensen (Denmark)
4 - Laporte (Spain)
2 - Bonucci (Italy)

Midfield

8 - Grillitsch (Austria)
6 - Shaqiri (Switzerland)
5 - Wijnaldum (Netherlands)
11 - Saka (England)

Forwards

7 - Ronaldo (Portugal, captain)
9 - Benzema (France)
10 - Forsberg (Sweden)

Really feel for Hungary they are underestimated and they proved it in a tough group that featured France,Germany and Portugal they done really well and they do really well against the big teams which is rare to see in international football and i reckon they would of beat England as England seem to always come unstuck against the sides they shouldn't.

And as for Portugal they must be the luckiest team in the world , twice they would of been out in the old format after finishing 3rd and last time they got lucky after drawing all three group games not winning a single match in 90 mins a part from the Semis against Wales and some how going on to win it , will they get that luck again i doubt it. Anyway they was much better this time around.

Anyway i thoroughly enjoyed the group one of the best groups at this year's Euro's that's for sure and it should of been anyway when you look at the club's involved France,Germany and Portugal and Hungary made a fight of it which was good to see.

Anyway i have got a little bit of a soft spot for Hungary i just like teams that will give it a go and put up a little fight normally i couldn't care less about any international team a part from England obviously and i don't mind Wales to as they had to fight to prove themselves but yeah as i say i have got a little bit of liking for Hungary.

After the completion of the group stage, own goals is the leading goalscorer in the tournament with 8. The previous 15 Euro Championships combined only saw 9 own goals scored.

so Own goals could even win the golden Boot!! Who would have thought it????
