RE: Scottish Football - mikedafc - 25-07-2018 12:50 Seems like their overspending has caught up with them and they don't have players to sell to the likes of Celtic like Armstrong etc anymore. Their appointment of Laszlo as manager is for me up there with Rangers appointing Caixinha. They have signed well getting Nicky Clark from Dunfermline and given good service he will score 20-30 goals. Aird on his day will be a good signing but he blows hot and cold. If you get relegated from the Premiership and don't get promoted back up the first year it gets harder and harder to do so. This with only 1 p/t team will probably be the hardest year yet unless you get on a run like St Mirren did last season. Even only five years ago such humiliations would have been unthinkable. It's very sad to see for someone who was brought up on the McLean era when the likes of Sturrock and Narey were household names even in England. How did it come to this? RE: Scottish Football - Doddle - 26-07-2018 06:32 Celtic 3 Rosenborg 1 Brechin 1 Dunfermline 7 (SEVEN) RE: Scottish Football - Doddle - 28-07-2018 20:29 Hamilton beat Airdrie on penalties. East Kilbride got their season going with a mere 10-0 win! I read Hamilton are supposed to have been paid a "five figure sum" (i.e. £100.00) for their ground to be sponsored by this company which sells cannabinoids (ahem). As if the team haven't got enough problems already..!? RE: Scottish Football - mikedafc - 28-07-2018 21:22 ^ at least they can laugh at themselves as this was the first song played on the tannoy today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeYsTmIzjkw RE: Scottish Football - mikedafc - 28-07-2018 21:40 So the Betfred Cup comes to a conclusion bar Inverness CT v Hearts tomorrow. Ross County won Group A with 2-0 win at Alloa Athletic to finish with 9 points St Johnstone won Group B with 11 points after beating Forfar Athletic 3-1 Hearts 6 points and +7 goal difference need to beat Inverness CT to progress and win Group C. A draw or ICT win eliminates Hearts and confirms ICT as group winners. Dunfermline beat Stirling Albion 3-1 after trailing 1-0 at half time to win Group D and Dundee beat Brechin 2-0 to also progress with 9 points and +7 goal difference Ayr United beat Partick Thistle 2-0 the second goal a 45 yard volley by Lawrence Shankland from Thistle keeper kickout. Ayr win group E and Partick Thistle have to hope Hearts fail to beat ICT to progress or Hearts win by 4 clear goals due to their goal difference.(+3) Livingston beat Berwick Rangers 2-0 to win Group F with 11 points Motherwell came from behind against Clyde to win 3-1 and win Group G with 10 points, Queen of the South who had played all their games before today also qualified with 9 points and +7 goal difference Kilmarnock won 2-0 against Queens Park to win Group H with 10 points and St Mirren beat Dumbarton 6-0 to finish with 9 points and +6 goal difference to also progress. Dunfermline, Livingston and St Johnstone as group winners with most points will be seeded along with Aberdeen Celtic, Hibernian and Rangers and either ICT or Motherwell depending on tomorrows result RE: Scottish Football - mikedafc - 29-07-2018 16:34 Hearts beat Inverness CT 5-0 to progress and help Partick Thistle progress as well. Last 16 draw Livingston v Motherwell Dundee v Ayr Dunfermline v Hearts Kilmarnock v Rangers Aberdeen v St Mirren Partick Thistle v Celtic Hibs v Ross County Queen of The South v St Johnstone RE: Scottish Football - Doddle - 29-07-2018 20:47 East Stirling beat BSC Glasgow 1-0 (an own-goal!) RE: Scottish Football - Doddle - 02-08-2018 07:47 Celtic marmalised Rosenborg 0-0 in the 2nd leg, off to AEK Athens next. East Stirling had their first league match, again against BSC Glasgow, this time 1-1. Selkirk lost 0-8 to Gretna, which is I suppose an improvement from losing 10-0 at the weekend.
