The Pfizer vaccine candidate needs 2 doses 28 days apart then a further period of 7 days before the "90% effective" mark is achieved so masks, hand washing etc won't disappear overnight.

As for the nonsense about how quickly the vaccines have been developed it's down to the sheer amount of resources thrown at them and the fact that a lot of work was done on a SARS vaccine in 2003 and then shelved when that outbreak fizzled out. Many of the teams involved in that research have been involved this time around.

I doubt there will ever be a situation where covid vaccines could be given in one shot for a while

Well, if it was 100% it guarantee protection, anything less would not be a guarantee, but that's not realistic.
When you consider that the annual flu vaccine offers not much better than 50% protection at best, I'd say 90% is good for a much more deadly virus.

I’m not fussed about the masks, but I would be a strong advocate of keeping the hand washing and social distancing going in perpetuity. And let’s permanently do away with handshaking and the dreaded ‘kiss hello’ while we’re at it.

It’s been a tough year ... we can only wish for a better world to come from it all!

Am I correct in thinking that they need freezers which go down to -80%.
Where are they going to get enough of those in a month.

Apparently Pfizer produce a transport case that keeps it cold.

It's 21 days between the two jabs not 28.

The case they supply the vaccine in can only be opened up to four times between leaving the manufacturers and the jab hitting your arm. Plus, wherever is doing the administering can only open the case twice in 24 hours.
