RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating - *Kal-El* - 17-10-2018 22:54 Alien Isolation PS4 Tried to like the game on paper it’s a great idea but it’s the execution, poor Alien AI and the game is scripted. RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating - Warwick Hunt - 21-10-2018 11:51 Soul Calibur VI It's Soul Calibur, so I like it, but for the love of god "Story" modes in fighting games is a trend that needs to fucking stop. They're never as good as people think. It was cute when Mortal Kombat did it, but having to trudge though portions of a fighting game using a character I hate sucks all the fun out of the experience. Just go back to having an arcade mode with CGI movies at the end, and that's plenty. RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating - *Kal-El* - 24-10-2018 03:22 Super Smash Bros Wii U RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating - The Goatman - 27-10-2018 12:16 Red dead redemption 2 Its good but so far its not as amazing as they say RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating - *Kal-El* - 28-10-2018 04:33 Omen of Sorrow Demo PS4 RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating - Jack the Nipper - 06-11-2018 16:00 Vampyr (PS4); Vampire's are often vilified characters by the nature that they feed off blood whether it be human's or animals, sleep in coffins are nocturnal & have almost superhuman abilities (some can even turn into bats apparently). And so vampire's make perfect fodder for bad-guys in video games but there are very few games where the role is in reverse where you get to play as a vampire (aside from a few Castlevania & Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver games) & get to utilize their powers that make them so fearful. At the title suggests Vampyr (I have no idea of reason for the miss-spelling) you get to play as Dr Jonathan Reid who having just been bitten & turned into a vampire he is rescued by a fellow Doctor who runs a local hospital in Victorian London in the early 19th century. On succumbing to his new abilities as a vampire Dr Reid gets his opportunity & help play the good Doctor & help cure the good citizens (& some shady ones) of their ills in the midst of a Spanish Flu epidemic & help rid London of it's Skals (bad vampires),Vampire Hunters,Werewolves & anything else blighting the Victorian London setting. In essence this is RPG/action game where you as a vampire can upgrade your special powers & working as a Doctor by helping out patients/citizens in exchange they can offer vital knowledge that opens up side quests to complete. This is a very dialogue heavy game & asking certain questions to certain people can either rub them up the wrong way or lower their guard & help them reveal secrets or knowledge that maybe crucial in side-quests.This game also relies heavily on combat that is similar to the likes of Dark Souls & Bloodbourne (but a lot inferior to these games) that underwhelms & disappoints & is a bit of a chore (plenty of respawning bad-guys). The game itself offers a lot of promise with the opportunity of playing good or bad vampire (by necking/killing citizens instead of helping them).A pretty decent story-line & pretty good voice-acting among the main characters & venturing around various Victorian London settings like The Docklands,Whitechapel etc in such grim settings can be an adventure in itself. But there are several big issues that do tend to let the game down. The graphics whilst competent certainly aren't a patch on the very games this game tries to imitate like Dark Souls,Bloodbourne.Aside from aesthetics side of the the game actually getting to play a Vampire whose powers are somewhat pretty limited throughout the game. The special vampire abilities are merely restricted to biting & hypnotizing certain people & that's pretty much about it.There is no flying, turning into mist or even a bat to help unlock gates/doors that can only be unlocked from one side & jumping is only restricted to certain platforms which can be frustrating as hell. The game's two biggest issues are the horrendous loading times where entering rooms or certain open areas can trigger a 20-30 second waiting time which is a huge frustration.Another issue is despite the game having a pretty large open area there are no Fast-Travel options which means often travelling from one corner of the map to another (by foot & no other way) encountering doors & gates that cannot be opened is an absolute chore. Overall;A game with good dialogue (voice acting) & a pretty good story-line let down with being a vampire with restricted powers, horrible & frequent loading times & an absence of Fast-Travelling that makes the game an intriguing one but a chore to play. 5/10. RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating - *Kal-El* - 12-11-2018 00:45 My perfect round using Ken on Super Street Fighter II: https://youtu.be/0oVy_wJRylc RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating - The Goatman - 14-11-2018 08:54 Hitman 2 for ps4 its really good so far RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating - awhite01 - 14-11-2018 18:26 Dead by Daylight (Xbox One / PS4) RE: Currently playing/enjoying/hating - *Kal-El* - 22-11-2018 02:00 Warframe Nintendo Switch Never played the game before on any other system so thought I would give it a try on a Switch seeing as it’s free and so far loving it. Reminds me of Mass Effect and Destiny. You can use standard controls or use motion controls which I haven’t tried yet but I will. All tho not graphical as intense as the PC version Painc Button once again did a fantastic job in porting the game over and not only looks great on HD tv but portable mode it’s great too. |
