Asteras v Hibs was a bit of a weird game, in first half 11 against 11 Hibs dominated should have been 2 or 3 goals up but only had 1 goal to show for their dominance. Second Half Asteras get player sent off 4 minutes in and yet from that point on with 10 men they dominated the game equalised and Bogdan had to pull off several good saves to keep Hibs level and to help them win 4 - 3 on Agg. Rangers after McGregor made double save to keep it level went 1-0 ahead on the night and were cruising until the Croatian team levelled in 90 mins and made last 4 minutes very nervy but Rangers survived winning 2-1 on agg. Aberdeen did well to take Burnley to extra time with great overhead goal equalissser to make it 1-1 after 90 mins before Burnley scored twice to win 3-1 on night and 4-2 on agg

Well both our former players scored but Dunfermline Ath finally ended their hoodoo and beat Dundee United 3-2 at Tannedice

Hamilton started as they mean to go on, i.e. they got thwacked. I suspect our run in the top flight will be ending in 9 months.

East Stirling won 6-0 though.

If you had offered me a 1-1 draw away to Aberdeen before the match I would have taken it, had you told me that Rangers would be down to 10 men as well I would of taken your arm off. Given The Dons impressive performance against Burnley, I fully expected them to get hammered, the more experienced manager who's been with the team longer, Aberdeen being the better team last season and Rangers being away I would of expecting a commanding victory for The Dons

But it is very disappointing because truth be told, Aberdeen were abysmal and we created so much more considering we were a man down and away from home.

The jury is out on Gerrard and will remain so for most of the season unless he does spectacularly bad but if I was an Aberdeen fan I would hardly be jumping for joy right now

I was amazed how toothless Aberdeen were against Rangers given they played against 10 men from 12 minutes in due to idiotic Morelos even taking into account Aberdeen's efforts against Burnley. Was disappointed that Rangers didn't see game out as Aberdeen deserved nothing from game

Hibernian held to a draw, whilst Rangers won comfortably. Surely we can't be 9 months away from Gerrard lifting the Europa League?!

RE: Scottish Football - mikedafc - 10-08-2018 17:14

I'm liking what Gerrard is doing at Rangers, when Morelos got sent off he changed formation so Aberdeen couldn't hurt Rangers through the middle forcing Aberdeen to go wide. Last night he identified that they were pressuring as individuals rather than as a team in last 25 minutes of first half and rectified it at half time and they dominated the 2nd half

Motherwell 0 Hamilton 1 - yay, the battle of the crap-heads!
Hearts beat Celtic 1-0 Tongue Maybe it will be closer this season after all.

East Stirling won 4-0, but East Kilbride have a 100% record after just 4 games, so that might be a challenge.

Disappointed that after beating Dundee United, Dunfermline lost to Ross County 3-1

RE: Scottish Football - mikedafc - 15-08-2018 00:33

In the Cup no-one cares about Dunfermline Athletic put out the holders Inverness CT 2-1, 1st Pars victory in Inverness since 2007
