RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - mikedafc - 28-08-2014 12:58 As much as i like Sharapova and Azarenka I wish they would tone down the noise down on court. Vila showed in Rally4Bally that she can play without making all the noise. Was disappointed that Radwanska went out, outside of the British players she is my favourite player to watch since Marion Bartoli retired RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Fernandez Esperenda - 28-08-2014 15:27 the noise doesn't bother me really, would like to see sharapova win this year RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Snooks - 29-08-2014 19:36 Much as I would love to see Sharapova win as a long time supporter of hers I really don't see it happening. Her career has gone from clay being her worst surface to her best hence her recent successes at the French Open. Her recent US Open record is not good and generally on hard courts her form not convincing. The big concerns for me are her serve and the unforced error count. Due to being beset by shoulder problems in her career she had to modify her service action and has been very erratic and inconsistent with it since. An awful lot of double faults thrown in at times. And when her serve goes the unforced errors increase especially on the forehand side. If Serena Williams holds herself together and does not self destruct like she has in all the other majors this year I expect her to win the event quite easily. If she loses then its an open tournament and players such as Petra Kvitova, Eugenie Bouchard and Simona Halep should be live contenders. But imo Sharapova is too erratic and inconsistent on hard courts to win. I really really want to be wrong though . RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Snooks - 30-08-2014 13:04 Well thats one contender gone. Halep is out. Who next I wonder? RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Fernandez Esperenda - 30-08-2014 15:46 Good win for Sharapova last night, nice to see her through and actually smiling and being happy after she won! makes a change RE: Tennis Discussion Thread - Snooks - 30-08-2014 18:28 Petra Kvitova out as well now. Are they all trying to give it to Serena? .
