Anyone remember Atomic man ?
He was the Action man version of the Six million dollar man.

According to my Action Man manual there was a black commando called Tom Stone, Human Bullet and The Intruder(strongman) as well as Atomic Man. Action Man came in Soldier, Sailor, Adventurer as a starter pack and tons of accessories and vehicles. Try and post some pics shortly.

Atomic Man is the first one on the right side followed by those mentioned above. While we're on the subject of action figures does anyone remember one called MARK STRONG(not the actor of the same name) he had all sorts of outfits including his own judo board and if you pressed his back he karate-chopped it. And there was a smaller action figure called LITTLE BIG MAN who also had his own accessories.

Look what I found via Google.

It is possible he was called BIG JIM in the US and LBM was made by Palitoy here. I remember getting Mark Strong from Selfridges-rich 'aunt' took me and my sister there one Easter-he was dressed in the England football squad kit.

Two books I read at school

My favourite Agaton Sax book was him and The League of Silent Exploders-but I couldn't find that cover. Dragonfall 5 was a series of sci books for kids. Incidentally, the last pic is a cartoon version of Agaton Sax and all the voices were done by Kenneth Williams. They were also serialised on Jackanory and read by him as well.

Speaking of Jackanory:
The Hobbit-as read by Bernard Cribbins, Maurice Denham, Jan Francis and David Wood

Famous names who read:
Top: Jan Francis, Judi Dench, David Jason, not sure who that is.
Bottom left: Kenneth Williams, Alan Bennett, Bernard Cribbins.

Fuck... I had one of those chemistry sets. Looking like a crazy bastard with those goggles. Fuck knows how my parents trusted me with that shit?
I trashed the ceiling after I put a cork on the test tube to see if I could make it explode while hovering it over the burning kit!!!
First time I quickly learned how to paint... eek
