which is a good fall, by the end of Nov it should be well below 1, there drops are on about a 3 week delay
i think it shows that the 3 types of local lockdown where working and if they come back in on 3/12 then xmas should not be to affected for most,

I got my information from an interview with one of the SAGE team who specialises on the R Rate.
Today The Daily Express say the rate is 0.9. The Metro says it's below 1. The Mirror says that it's between 0.9 - 1.1

^ Depends what level of restriction areas are placed in. I noticed Alok Sharma avoided answering how that would be determined when asked yesterday. Hopefully people can have a Xmas with family but until we can be vaccinated I think it will be a roller coaster ride for a few months yet.

In some areas the R number is way above 1. This would suggest that they had these places in the wrong tier & or moved to late in moving them into higher tiers.

i think that could be right, on the local news tonight its been saying that Bristol could be level 3 or this new level 2.5 they are talking about having after lockdown but was level 1 only 2 weeks ago, and was high then every day

Was it on the the same page as their weekly prediction of 12 feet of snow at Christmas followed by a heatwave in the first week of January? Big Laugh

agreed, but its good to see that the latest protections seam to be showing covid mostly over by mid March, a few even saying end of Feb, and as long as its the standard type of pandemic then that should be it there is only a 10% chance of it having a 3rd wave next year, no pandemic has done that since the Russian flu back the 1890 that lasted for 4 years,

Data published yesterday about regional Covid cases and then Liverpool area (which went into effective lockdown (tier 3) earlier that anywhere else

The data always lags by a few days but noticeable that as we entered lockdown on 5th November the North West was showing signs of a decline in cases but the other areas were increasing.

Liverpool area itself was showing good improvement.

If these figures are anything to go by the signs are good so we will be out of this lockdown on December 2nd or will the Governent look to extend it to get the R rate to absolutely zilch in time for Christmas?

its very unlikely bojo could get an extension past his own party, plus Labour will not want to be seen as the bad guys who stopped xmas, so fully expect a 1-3 or 4 level system to be in form 3/12, based on a regional system,

for example where i work its 120 and falling and live its 90 and going up very slowly, by dec the numbers in my area will be very low so no need for a lockdown where i am but some other places will still need it
