It was a step down, and incredibly derivative without putting the pieces together well enough.

I too didn’t like this weeks episode

RE: Dr Who - lovebabes56 - 15-01-2020 08:00

Is this series shaping up to be no better than the last?

RE: Dr Who - southsidestu - 15-01-2020 23:40

I liked the delving into characterisation in this episode. Right from the get go where the Doctor comes over all defensive about being moody, it was a chink in the armour of the persona we saw in series 11. I thought the relationship between Ryan and Belle was a strong one Belle found herself in the same position that Ryan was in the previous series. Obviously she was a one episode character (as it stands) but the fact that the relationship had the potential to flourish over that shared circumstance and that Ryan would of been able to help her with gave it authenticity.

Would still lie to see more from Yasmin, she was an aside to the Ryan & Graham relationship arc but now that that has run its course her character should get more focus especially as a fully trained police officer should have more of a front & centre roll in an adventure series

I thought this week's one was a lot better in some respects, even if the baddies weren't. The stuff with Tesla and Edison played out well, two good actors there.

Agree doddle, this episode was much much better

BBC Announcer: Time for a blast from the past

Me at the beginning of the episode: "Ah the Judoon are the blast from the past"

Me in the middle of the episode: "Wow was I wrong"

Me at the end of the episode: "I don't know what's happening but shit is going down"

RE: Dr Who - southsidestu - 26-01-2020 21:34

Additional feelings in this episode

When the glass is broken - holyyyy shiiiiit

When The Doctor discovers what's buried - What ?!

The reveal of who the woman is - What ?!

The reveal of who the second woman is - What ?!

So who knew there were TWO? Good to see the Judoon back and a real surprise to see Captain Jack Harkness(John Barrowman-who had been ill recently) there was a rumour that this character might return one day-by him as he would definitely be up for playing him again-but didn't expect it to be in this episode. Very cryptic too, who is the lone Cyberman and what is happening on two other continents(the answer to that next week it seems) poor old All Ears Allan didn't last long neither did Marcia the knitter. Also good to see the hysteria of a woman Doctor dying down, but what will social media make of TWO WHOs?Big Grin

I think seeing Barrowman back as Harkness can only assume he will dipping in and out of storylines then having a good part in the season finale. I think it is possible the lone Cyberman could have strong connections to the Doctor's past incarnations would be surprised if it was revealed to be Rose Tyler or something.
