I just spotted this in another section and thought it should be highlighted in this section, and well also I'll say what the fuck How can we possibly hope for change if this is being considered, my personal opinion on it is that it'll come to nothing and will be quickly swept under the carpet. It's not the first time this proposal was brought forward, but it does make you worry and wonder just how suppressed a country are these arsehole MP's trying to make within the UK because this certainly does not reflect modern day 21st century opinion which is certainly not reflective of the majority. If only they were that quick to sort out real issues such as the economy, policing, school's, unemployment and the NHS. RE: Ofcom Discussion - Shawnwilson - 19-09-2012 07:34 I actually feel like an mp when watching these shows at the minute... yeh, the mp that fell asleep in the commons the other day is how I normally watch the shows these days!!! Lol. RE: Ofcom Discussion - oldboy1047 - 19-09-2012 08:59 as i understand the main reason for the poor shows is because ofcon class these channels as selling channels.surely this could apply to all channels after all most programmes now are sponsored by some company or other and they wouldnt be doing that if the didnt think it would increase their profits.i think the babe channels should be reclassified as public service providers as they do provide a service to some people.Lol RE: Ofcom Discussion - shankey! - 19-09-2012 10:18 (19-09-2012 07:34 )Shawnwilson Wrote: I actually feel like an mp when watching these shows at the minute... yeh, the mp that fell asleep in the commons the other day is how I normally watch the shows these days!!! Lol.the fact is theres no channel willing to make an effort to put on anything that resembles erotic on, its groundhog day , every day and i for one am growing tired of the constant as you were shows so much that i tend not to bother watching half as much as i did ,and i think that is the fact of many members here, i see no significant change in them for the foreseeable future unless ofcoms golden tit is severed RE: Ofcom Discussion - mrmann - 19-09-2012 12:39 (19-09-2012 02:10 )Scottishbloke Wrote:(18-09-2012 17:22 )Rammyrascal Wrote: news from the uk. the sun newspaper is reporting the lib dems are trying to stop the sun newspaper and lads mags from being on sale before the watershed to tackle the projection of women as sex objects. Yeah that's pretty sick. They had better ban all of the other magazines with sexy women on them as well! Also, they will now have to censor every single show, advert or movie on the TV before 9pm, if it in any way portrays a woman as a sex object. They will need to ban thongs and sexy lingerie, especially before 9pm, so anyone working at these stores will just have to put the products out after 9pm, but wait, the stores will be closed by then. Hmmm, I guess they are screwed and will need to destroy the lingerie, because it's too scary. Any beach wear will also need to be only put on the shelf when the stores are closed, and then taken and hidden before the stores open. That will work for sure!!! Also, from now on, if a child happens to go to the beach, and there is a woman who appears to be sexy or wearing a somewhat sexy outfit, that woman will be spoken to by a police officer, and escorted to a private location, where they will be told to change into a tuxedo or a shirt and pants. Regardless of the heat that day, the women will just have to endure the temperatures in the heavy clothing, because they can NOT be looked at as a sex symbol!!! No more escorting houses and no more escort sites online! If the children are to be raised with respect for women and raised to treat women as non sex objects, then as adults, they should do so as well! No more sex industry for all of ENGLAND!!! No more nude bums on the morning talk shows either, especially not for men, because this is ENGLAND, and in ENGLAND we are super P.C, and treat both sexes equally!!!! No more nude male asses in butter commercials either, though maybe some erect and mutilated penises after the watershed might make some feel happy Coming in 2020', NO MORE SEX!!!! Tuck your penises inside, staple your vaginas!!!! Good luck to them RE: Ofcom Discussion - StanTheMan - 19-09-2012 13:03 (19-09-2012 12:39 )mrmann Wrote: Coming in 2020', NO MORE SEX!!!! OFCOM have won unless the channels grow some balls and slightly stronger backbone than a jellyfish. If this lot were around in the 1960's Lady Chatterley would still be banned. Open message to all channel producers....give the customer some decent output or they will be switching off for good. RE: Ofcom Discussion - Scottishbloke - 19-09-2012 14:59 Well I posted some comments on the Storm TV Thread last night and well with the fiery responces of the models it really does make you think If only the channel execs showed the same passion as the models do against forum members just for stating an opinion and put that passion into challenging ofcom then the channels wouldn't be in the state they are in at the moment. Can I propose that all the channel execs all resign and hand over the reigns to the models. RE: Ofcom Discussion - Scottishbloke - 19-09-2012 20:31 Another thing that I've brought up too with the ofcom issues is SKY TV also doesn't exactly help itself either. Before 1998 SKY used to broadcast it's analogue signal from the Astra 1 satelite which also catered for the majority of Europe. Back then we had a shit load of German, Dutch and French channels to choose from aswell as our own home grown channels. We also didn't have the numourous amount of religious and asian and muslim channels either. Society has changed now, for example those working on British Airways are no longer allowed to wear a necklace with a cross on it anymore incase it causes offence despite the fact this is a Christian Country, I mean what does British Airways now stand for, Bastard Atheist. Religious beliefs are neither here not there but when you live in a Country where the vast majority of religious believers are Christian it really does take the piss especially when it's an entirely different story when it comes to women still being allowed to wear a burka. Double fucking standards. We have certain MP's now calling for a ban on Page3 incase it offends women and harms children. I remember the days when the peanut packets behind the bar used to have a picture of a naked lady which would be revealed more and more by the number of packets which were sold. Everybody also understood the what the watershed rules were, and that was long before the days we had the technology to block such offending channels might I say. The only people who kicked up any fuss about late night adult material which was largely shown on Channel 4 at the time was Mary Whitehouse and her merry band of killjoy cunts. Ofcom and the government are pandering to the minority. I'm offended to be living in such a backwards and too PC fucking country. What's more harmless I ask you, a vagina on a late night clearly labelled channel or some of these other foreign channels which have been proven time and time again just how dangerous some of their views can be. Did porn cause 9/11 - answer - no. Has porn been proved beyond all reasonable doubt that it can cause harm and distress if viewed by a minor - answer - no. Where does the buck stop, what's to say that the minors don't just raid their parents stash of porn anyway whilst also smoking all of their fags left sitting out and drinking their booze too into the bargain. No amount of censorship by Ofcom or the government is going to make a blind bit of difference. Time to stop the madness before this get's out of hand. Although it would be a blessing in disguise if page 3 was banned, as it would affect the Sun. All I can say to those offened by page 3 is don't fucking read it. Its amazing how simple it is. http://www.google.ie/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=5&cad=rja&ved=0CEYQFjAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.guardian.co.uk%2Fcommentisfree%2F2012%2Fsep%2F14%2Fsun-page-3-visible-tip-misogynys-iceberg&ei=gDFaUJq-OIu7hAejr4DIAQ&usg=AFQjCNHxKWB3VDyUnY5pBGLccwz1CKCvBA&sig2=PpdEm0WGrilLmleGmg7xRw Quote:Did porn cause 9/11 - answer - no.
