They wouldn't have that info, it's as simple as that. They are guessing at best.

When SEL went out of business their EPG slots including 942 were snapped up by Northern & Sell (TVX/RedHot) .
S66/Xtreme Filth started broadcasting on the TVX owned 942 channel slot .
S66 had a contract with Northern & Shell and used to pay for the use of the channel .
When S66 stopped using 942 Sin TV started using the channel slot .
I don't know who owned the EPG slot, but the last statement above can't be correct. We know from events at the time that Studio 66 did not stop using channel 942 until Sin TV were finally ready to start, something which was delayed more than once.

Only Studio 66 would know why they wanted that channel.

From what I remember what 66 sold to sin was the contract to use the channel, 66 did not own the channel or epg slot,
I would guess part of the deal as that 66 where allowed to use it until sin was ready, the month delay was sin incompetents as that had to register this change with sky by a set date so they could update the next month epg they did not so we got a month extra of sin as a web only show

This version of events sounds quite plausible. It may well be correct.
Sin TV were certainly incompetent, in many ways.

Yes it seems plausible to me too. It fits the known evidence, so I think we have a consensus that it's likely to be what happened.

Personally speaking, i find all this talk of EPG Slots and failed channels quite rivetting.
