RE: Does Anyone Know Of A Good, Free Filehost? - Mister Gummidge - 03-01-2009 03:44

Excellent! I can hunt down copyright thieves and shame them with snarky passive-aggresive emails... hang on, I publish my writing under a creative commons license... and I'm not shy about downloading copyrighted material myself... well, the point still stands!

there is also this :
http://www.zshare.net/
great little rapidshare beater/mauler, free, allows unlimited downloads (yes download more than 5 files at 1 time from this sharing site). No signup, 500mb limit. Only drawback is files deleted after 60 days of inactivity which may not suit your needs.

I want to upload some videos, however when i uploaded some of Donna Duke last time on dailymotion, my account got disabled for apparently putting porn up - unfortunate as it is, the viedos of Donna were not porn.

anyway, what site can I use that will allow the videos???

Dailymotion is a highly ranked site these days (ranked 106 for UK traffic) and is looking to appeal to a very wide range of advertisers, so they are increasingly careful about content they regard as adult, as is Youtube of course (ranked 4). If you look around the forum, the other sites you can see used by members here to upload videos are Babe Video (ranked 7,822) and Clipser (ranked 14,521), but if Dailymotion regarded your material as porn then it's possible that Clipser may do also.

Myself and other members have had stuff "unfairly" rejected by dailymotion but I have never had a rejection from clipser. Unfortunately the picture quality is worse with clipser.
If your account got disabled, was it because you did not tag your video as "Adult content" or "Sexy"?

RE: Best video host - jack29g - 11-08-2009 13:47

No, I definately did tag them as sexy. its just that they regarded them as porn... which obviously they were not.

RE: a host i recommend for the uploaders - Red - 07-02-2010 03:29

Err... somebody redefine the meaning of what a host server is? Big Grin
Stretch it a little more and you could say Google hosts the whole Internet Bounce

The host service is the one actually storing the files so using multiupload and their ilk is only of benefit if you would be uploading to multiple hosts anyway. Otherwise you're just adding in another layer to go wrong. As some people have had issues lately with lax DMCA claims I'd warn it adds another link their as well for people to request files be removed

multiupload is a host server genius as u can direct download from it.

and adding more hosts increases the likely hood for file longeitivy
