According to a source I spoke with today, the current plan is to have CM Punk vs Jeff Hardy as the main event for tonight's SummerSlam PPV. Originally, Vince McMahon wanted Orton vs Cena to headline the show, however, Triple H began lobbying for the DX match to main event with the reason being that it would diminish Shawn Michaels' return to WWE if their match was not at the top of the card. However, during agents meetings this weekend, it was said that the likely main event will be Punk vs Hardy.
WWE officials, incluing Raw writer Brian Gewirtz, have been in LA this whole weekend working diligently on the show, and it's being said that as of this writing all match outcomes have been determined and the agents are working with talents on producing the matches.
Michael Hayes and Pat Patterson will be putting the Punk/Hardy match together and it's being reported that Stephanie McMahon will be backstage for the show show tonight even though she has been absent for the past few weeks of TV.

Additionally, WrestleZone has learned that the WWE legend is scheduled for some sort of appearance at the actual SummerSlam pay-per view event this Sunday as well. The specific details on his actual role on the show are unclear, but we have heard that the "Hot Rod" will indeed be on camera during the summer's biggest event.
Hmm no idea were he would fit in if he does appear on camera. Hope it isn't just some pointless backstage skit.

There have been some rumors of Bret "The Hitman" Hart appearing at SummerSlam tonight. Those are obviously untrue.
Apparently the rumor stems from someone spotting him at the airport in Los Angeles yesterday. He was in fact in L.A. yesterday but it had nothing to do with WWE.
Bret Hart is already back in Calgary right now and will not be involved in tonight's show in any
