Surely you're missing the point? If Celtic and Rangers had the same TV income as the top clubs in England they would expect to have as good a team as the top clubs in England. They would be ahead of say Liverpool for example in terms of attendances and equal to them in TV income, so why wouldn't they expect to be equal to or above of Liverpool in the league? If Liverpool are a contender for the Premier League and the Champions League, why wouldn't Celtic and Rangers be?

Sunderland and Newcastle bring in bigger crowds than Chelsea and Liverpool, it quite clearly has no impact on league positions or quality, Celtic and Rangers would be relegation fodder in the Premiership for me.

you bring up some good points but to say they would be relegation fodder ls ludicrous, even more ludicrous is for admin to suggest they should expect to be equal or above Liverpool in the league. To suggest that Liverpool are the weakest of the big four is insulting and typical of a southerner! Where did Chelsea & Arsenal finish in the Prem last year annoyed

Being a supporter of one of the other Scottish clubs i could not care if the old firm left or not.Infact if they left i think average attendances would get bigger for the smaller clubs as fans tend to go more if their club has more chances of winning something. As for them joining the Epl the premiership does not need them so i cannot see it happening.

I personally believe that should rangers and Celtic join the premier league(it would never happen. That mad Austrian Sepp Blatter would never allow it. I cant remember what happened last time a mad Austrian was given a position of power:rolleyesSmile they would be between 5-10th place in the premier league. Lets be honest judging by the results in Europe outside the big four our teams are not that special, so therefore rangers and Celtic would certainly be able to hold their own in the premier league.

I think a good Idea would be; to have an Anglo Scottish premier league(Celtic and rangers first Scottish teams to take part)and keep the other divisions and the teams. The teams that get relegated from it, get relegated to their own national division eg if English get relegated to the "championship2 and if Scottish to the the "spl".Both champions come up ,and have play offs between the 2 runner ups from each of the respective national divisions to decide who gets that sacred third spot for promotion to the Anglo Scottish premier league.

This is all academic because Europe/fifa lead by that Austrian dictator would never allow it.

I didn't suggest any such thing. You're imagining things.

I selected Liverpool at random. That's why I said Liverpool for example.

Yes I think it's clear that Liverpool was merely used as an example, so Bunna is excitable over nothing. However if you read the latest accounts from the 4 clubs he refers to I think it's clear that Liverpool ARE IN THE WEAKEST POSITION of the 4. Anyone feel free to read the accounts yourself if you don't believe this.

I can see FIFA/UEFA might have problems with the move but based on past performance by the Prem my big worry is that the main criteria in decision making is the god of money. If they decide there is more money to be made from having matches with two Scottish clubs in the league than say Stoke or Wigan or even my own club Birmingham then it may take a couple of years of lobbying but eventually it could happen whether the fans want it or not. After all its not so long ago we had the ludicrous idea of Prem teams playing a 39th game overseas purely to enhance the Premiership brand in overseas markets.I don't suppose that idea has entirely disappeared either.
I've had a Blues season ticket for longer than I care to remember and have seen all sorts of changes in football over the years but a move like admitting Scottish teams into the English League would prove once and for all that football is all about money and no longer about sport and I might have to think about going to my local amateur side to get back to grass roots.

That's not entirely correct:

1 Manchester United 75,304
2 Arsenal 60,039
3 Newcastle United 48,749
4 Liverpool 43,611
5 Manchester City 42,900
6 Chelsea 41,588
7 Sunderland 40,168

Last season's figures put Liverpool and Chelsea AHEAD of Sunderland.

I think you got my point thought didn't, you're just being pedantic.
