Roland Emmerich directed this and did indeed direct day after tomorrow.

Story - So So, Acting - Average, Visual effects - Excellent
Needs to be seen on the big screen to appreciate the effects.

5.5 / 10

I think it's a good film, lacking a bit in story-line, but visualy excellent.

My favourite line is when Woody harrelson stands on the hill, when all hell breaks lose and says "People I have goosebumps"

I was LMAO at that.

I've only just seen the film and quite liked it,you know what you're getting with Roland Emmerich,a big dumb visual spectacle and he does it well, check out this 70's style trailer,

Having splashed on the BluRay following a friends recommendation, all I can say is he must have been watching a different film.

Very formulaic, and whilst acting from a few key roles was above average or better, many of the others were not so entertaining.
Problem really is that it's all been done/seen before. Aside from spending a butt-load on the visual effects, there isn't really anything to draw you in.

Shame, as John Cusack is usually a good indicator of a decent film...

Being generous I'd average it out to 6/10. It wasn't so poor as to not watch it all the way through. There are some good moments, but they're too far apart to keep you entertained, and you find your mind wandering when watching (never a good sign).

But films are very subjective. What I think might be brilliant others will dislike with a passion. So I'd suggest if you want a couple of hours of fairly mindless film viewing, you'd be okay with this...
