I was under the impression the internet was out of their jurisdiction, because the internet is supposed to be free access across the globe, and not to be interfered with by halfwit governments, and their twat departments, especially in a democratic country. The internet isn't theirs to police, not now, not ever. RE: Serious Ofcom warning for Bang Media - IvIaxed Stats 76 - 08-04-2010 11:32 A few funny oops tv blunders and magic telly moments I'm sure isn`t offensive to anyone so i`m suprised the big clamp down from ofcom....A big shame really I bet the crime rate was at its lowest while the babes was free to have fun, entertaining us all[i`m not suggesting any of you fine forum following felows are crims like[haha] but i bet alot of people was watching when it was happier times for us all I dont think any of the girls would dare do anything really risky on live tv anyway so i reckon ofcom should let them just carry on coz the last 6-12 months have really been good entertainment & i cant understand how come its all so serious now,you can even tell when someone from behind the scenes is tellin the presenter or the dodgy camera angles It was great with fixed cams and the babes being aloud to be sexy and fun flirtatiously lol RE: Serious Ofcom warning for Bang Media - KateP - 08-04-2010 15:21 (02-04-2010 23:02 )stoly Wrote:(02-04-2010 22:50 )H-H Wrote: You do know Ofcom will soon be regulating TV on demand and web streams, don't you ? it was free access till they passed the digital ecomeny bill last night but thats another story I know there was part of the bill that got took out that allowed ofcom more power to regulate the internet radio and other stuff just be glad it got took out RE: Serious Ofcom warning for Bang Media - coin - 08-04-2010 18:46 (02-04-2010 23:02 )stoly Wrote:(02-04-2010 22:50 )H-H Wrote: You do know Ofcom will soon be regulating TV on demand and web streams, don't you ? Control freak, Gordon Brown is drip by drip creating a Police State in the UK, the latest draconian law that is refered to; Digital Economy Bill/Act, is just the latest in a long line of measures that Brown has brought in, hot foot on top of the new law witch hunting punters who visit Massage Parlours/Escorts. If Brown stays in power he will have so much legislation in place for restriction on carnal pleasures that it will be risky going out wearing just shorts in the summer without being arrested!! This country is going back to the dark ages where sexual freedoms are concerned, Browns' idea of fun is to keep your "magic wand" firmly locked in your Jock Strap and take Bromide with your tea. It's very, very sad how this Government has made the human sexual desire a thing that is dirty and something to be ashamed of. The internet out of government jurisdiction? When did any government anywhere sign up to that? "Not theirs to police"? Neither is my car, but if I have a few jars and do wheelies life gets difficult. EU and UK law specifically call for TV-on-demand to be regulated. "They" aren't going to put up with shit where an industry is regulated if the product delivered one way but not if delivered differently. The only problem is how TV-on-demand is defined. Downloading a compressed RAR file that can be filed and played back later might be exempt. Connecting to a video stream from the BBC, BT or SexStation will be seen as delivering a signal similar to a broadcast signal. Only dirtier. RE: Serious Ofcom warning for Bang Media - amandasnumerounofan - 09-04-2010 02:39 Why can the old bird on sportxxx+40 show her rat in plain view for god knows how long and yet bang media gets fucked over by Ofcom for flashes that don't last longer than 10-15secs, if that. Just a bunch of fucking twats ruining everyones fun. This week Brown forced the Digital Economy Bill through, giving OfCom sweeping powers and criminalising "file sharers", on 1st April Brown's draconian legislation Policing and Crime Act Section 14 came into force; this Act makes it an offence to pay for sex from someone who is coerced or forced to provide the service, the Police are using this new law to witch hunt "punters", see :- http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2923124/Brothel-raid-as-sex-laws-change.html One could argue that phone sex is a form of prostitution? after all it is a sexual service. Brown and his barmy deputy, extreme feminist Harriet Harman are on crusade to control and eliminate sexual services in the UK, if Brown is re-elected, the future for sexual freedom in the UK looks bleak, the Police being used to harry, obstruct and terrorise anyone who seeks paid for sexual pleasures, in ALL it's forms. RE: Serious Ofcom warning for Bang Media - H-H - 09-04-2010 23:29 Read in the paper this week that the English Collective of Prossies or similar reckon automatically criminalising men who pay for sex with women pressured into it will make life worse for victims of the sex trade. It works like this. Before the new law a punter who suspected something was wrong might tip off the bill. But now they will be scared to do that in case they go to jail as a user. And closing high street lap dancing clubs (I don't like these by the way) will push stripping into members-only no-rules parties. Not all bad but there will be some abuses, accidents and some clubs with links to organised crime. Don't expect limits on working hours, sick pay or safe working conditions. So fiddling by Harriet Harman and her frigid-appeaser friends have made things worse for sex trade workers, punters and neighbours. Men's sex-drives won't magically vanish. Still, it probably made a good sound-bite in the Daily Mail. RE: Ofcom stuff - H-H - 10-04-2010 23:19 Stoly's comment about jurisdiction got me thinking. There would be outrage among Gardian readers and Harriet Harman's knitting circle if anyone attempted Ofcom type regulation of newspapers or magazines. Imagine if the New Statesman had to show political balance in every single article. The original reason for broadcasting regulation was that there were very few TV channels, so their use was regulated to ensure everyone's interests were met. But Sky has hundreds of channels. Scarcity is not an issue. Even so, Ofcom categorises channels and can close them down if they show the wrong content. Fairness issues, political balance, advertising volume and swearing are also controlled. So here's an idea. Where scarcity is not a factor - Sky and cable (but not terrestial analogue or digital including Freeview) - how about the new Government removes Ofcom's right to regulate. Obscenity and libel laws would still apply - same as for papers, but there would be no need for a regulator on cable and satellite. These channels are not in short supply. |
