Yeah. Who would you rather get the money, a Charity or that cuntity Cowell? I actually do not hate Cowell (I just wanted to use the word cuntity lol), I just hate the manufactured wank that he constantly puts out and calls it 'music'. I am happy my money went to a good cause.

I'm so happy Rage got to number one. Rage are a great band and their music awesome.
It's still unfair cause they never get radio time! Well the radio station I listen to never plays them.
I'm sick of all this crap dance pop music! Like lady gaga all she does is stutter through out he songs, or "artists" using autotune! That isn't singing that just using a machine to change your voice anyone can do it! Also most dance songs just have the same beat to them.
That joe... Can't remember his second name, he tries to sing the climb like miley. Joes version is just balls! Miley has actually got some good songs, well the ones I've heard.

That's my rant about over Wink all I'm trying to say is wish there was more rock or metal on radio or tv.

I only listen to Kerrang radio (105.2 and DAB) a rock centric channel. They got right behind the Rage campaign and regularly play the single, well an edited version.
Incidentally it seems despite all the previous cockiness Cowell and the X-Factor cronies are now running scared!,,http://entertainment.stv.tv/the-x-factor/news/146201-x-factor-final-may-be-held-earlier-in-2010/
And if bringing in Blobby Williams is supposed to be an improvement you know you've got problems.

I never listen to the radio, I buy Kerrang! and Metal Hammer magazines (Which has an amazing Dimebag tribute this month) to keep me up to date on Metal and Rock, because mainstream media is never going to keep me informed. And then I buy albums that interest me after maybe previewing some of the bands songs on youtube, I only ever have CD's on in my car. I have not even heard Joe's version of the Miley Cyrus song yet but I have heard her version (not my choice, watching Tarzan on the Disney channel with my little brother and that song was played the fuck out of in every advert break), and I think it just goes to show how wanky and untalented the contestants are on the X Factor that they have to sing a remake every year.

I cant stand that rage against the machine song, never liked that sort of stuff, im a hard rock fan!(this is nothing but angry punk for the 90's) But the winners song is good, its just, joe has done such a soul-less version of it about a whole tone too low for his voice! I wanted the original campaign of journey's 'Dont stop believin' to be number one. Now THAT would've been poetic justice, and told simon cowell that it IS a well known song, along with 'Open arms' by them, that he also doesnt know! This is also a pyrrhic victory if the song, and video doesnt get played on the radio, or top of the pops xmas special on christmas day! Im sure it wont. Lets be honest,we just want to piss cowell off, not the new winner (why do they persist in releasing it at xmas?) All we really need to be at number one this time of year is Slade again! yeah?! laugh

I'm Joe McElderry's biggest fan!

To show my support last week I purchased 500,000 copies of Killing In The Name by Rage Against the Machine and burned them!

That'll show them!

This is the best thing to ever happen in the charts. Ever.

By the way why isn't kerrang radio on sky anymore?

RE: Rage Against The Machine Xmas #1 2009 - Neil-B-Art - 24-12-2009 19:09

It's good but it's so old, why couldn't the xmas no.1 be a new original song?.

RE: Rage Against The Machine Xmas #1 2009 - mas0887 - 24-12-2009 21:22

Because there are not many well known current Metal/Rock/Punk bands around nowadays, so it had to be a fairly old song to have any hope. For instance Avenged Sevenfold are one of the few newer 'Metal' bands that can get an album in the top 40 in the UK and there would be no hope of one of their songs getting to number one. Many other bands like Green Day and Metallica are mainstream and would not of fitted in with the campaign. Should of been a Pantera song to coincide with the 5 years since Dimbags passing, but that would never happen unfortunately. Would be wicked if it did though, 'Fucking Hostile' as Christmas number one lol, I could die happily if that happened.
