There has been a lot of talk within TNA lately about the six-sided ring. Various angles have been pitched as ways to get rid of the ring and bring in a traditional four-sided ring, including literally destroying the 6-sided ring during an episode of iMPACT! to explain the change.

they have done Ultimate X in a 4 sided ring before

I think it works better with the six sided ring. I am really looking forward to seeing the Ultimate X match in London Smile

That ring might be unique in the U.S, but certainly not to wrestling. It was essentially conceived for Lucha Libre in Mexico. The high-flying style was pioneered there & the 6-sides allowed new (geometric) angles to be used, in terms of starting & landing points. Toryumon, in Japan used one too.
For most bouts it has no particular benefit. Mike Tenay may refer to the 6-sides of this, that or the other, about 100 times per broadcast, but it really isn't a big deal. Chances are that after a while, you won't even think about it & no wrestling Company is going to succeed or fail, based on the specifications of its squared circle. If that was the case, Mexican wrestling would be the most popular in the world and...it isn't.
