RE: 6 Nations - Rammyrascal - 15-03-2010 11:45 agree ben foden was england's best player and should start next weekend. not just saying this because im a fan of the saturdays as ben's gf is una healy RE: 6 Nations - mrwotzup - 15-03-2010 16:07 I agree Foden showed promise but it was another Poor Game ![]() Not a try in sight, too many mistakes ,turnovers, penalties and as for the bloody scrums. How much of the match was taken up by watching them taking scrums...10%, 15% 20% More ![]() ![]() If Johnson can see improvements then he need to go to Specsavers. If England continue to play like this Rugby will end up on BBC4. Very Depressing RE: 6 Nations - setter1000 - 15-03-2010 16:16 As crap as England are I have a hunch we will surprise a few peolple on Saturday. I think we can get a result through boring the french into submission. If we can keep it tight till half time the french crowd might get at their team who in turn will turn on the self destruct button by arguing and bickering with each other. I think it could well be a similar out come to the 2007 world cup semi final where we did not exactly blow them off the park with glorious open rugby but it was effective. I think if you have a spare fiver have a flutter on England to win a tight war of attrition encounter. RE: 6 Nations - rickhardo - 15-03-2010 20:01 I can't share you optimism I'm afraid setter. The current French back line is far better than that in 2007, and given the way England were destroyed by the Irish backs I don't see us holding out if the French get any ball. One of the few bright spots for England has been a fairly effective back row but against Harinordiquy (man of the championship by a country mile), Bonnaire and Dusauttoir I simply don't see them holding their own. RE: 6 Nations - seth - 15-03-2010 20:07 I think we're due a hammering against the French. RE: 6 Nations - whothat - 15-03-2010 21:18 can see it being whitewash 20 plus points and the french will be in the mood to absolutely embaress the englsih RE: 6 Nations - Deadman 30 - 15-03-2010 21:24 (14-03-2010 14:05 )whothat Wrote:(14-03-2010 13:29 )Deadman 30 Wrote: Another blow for England held to a 15-15 draw with Scotland. Johnson reckons there's improvement.... I suppose it was an improvement over the performance against Ireland, that was woeful. sorry mate, don't share your thoughts. All I've seen of England so far has been dire. Been going on for a long time now. I reckon we're due a pasting against the French, we've been beating them so much in 6 nations in recent years that they'll be out for blood more than ever. ![]() Its not Johnson's fault entirely, like I said, the poor performances have been going for a while now ![]() RE: 6 Nations - setter1000 - 16-03-2010 00:15 There was all doom and gloom before we played Australia in the 2007 world cup. They were expected to put 40 points on us we were given a hiding by South Africa in the group stage and look what happened. My word how I enjoyed going down Earls Court and drinking points of Australian tears that night ![]() RE: 6 Nations - Kelly's Heroes - 04-02-2012 19:25 Well now, with 6 Nations 2012 now under way, I thought I'd make a start reviving this thread. The first result is in with the French proving to much for Italians, beating them 30-12 and with about 20 mins left of the Scotland v England game, it looks like anybody's game still. Who will take the Calcutta Cup?? ![]() ![]() -------------------- Result in, and the cup remains south of the wall! Scotland 6 - England 13 RE: 6 Nations - rickhardo - 04-02-2012 19:58 (04-02-2012 19:25 )Kellys Heroes Wrote: Who will take the Calcutta Cup?? My money's on England. At least it is now the game's finished. Same old problem for Scotland I'm afraid - too many mistakes when the chances were there. As for England they showed a few flashes of promise in the second half but there's a lot of work still to do. It's a young side though so let's give them some time. France looked very ominous in the second half of their game and Italy simply couldn't live with them. |
