Yes i had but i was in the Hotel room this morning in London and thought i'd pop in to vent my frustration...it helped take my mind off the Cup Final as i was getting quite nervous and this issue understandably was dominating the sporting news....I was right to be nervous Sad

As a man utd fan can i just say I think the referee got his license in a cracker.

Im glad you said it m100....It would just sound like sour grapes coming from me annoyed.....Wink

You can actually see vidic sigh with relief after the penalty has been taken because he knows he got off lightly. Seriously it was a joke - i might be the only man utd fan to say it but if that happened in the first few minutes of an england world cup final every english man utd fan would be all in favour of hanging the ref from the nearest thing available. It's just a case of double standards/blinkeredness from those man utd fans who don't see beyond silverware.

Quite right, too.

I actually don't agree with the rule itself (personally i think the award of a penalty is punishment enough for a foul inside the area) but since it IS there, why wasn't it adhered to? Vidic should have gone, plain and simple.

Graham Poll has said this morning that the decision not to send Vidic off was the correct one because at the time of the foul Ag had his back to goal.....mmmm as a lifelong Man U fan I like that argument, but I still think Vidic should have taken an early shower....Kudos to Richard Dunne though, always liked him and he shows his sportsmanship through this quote on the BBC website...."They got a man sent off at Villa Park and it didn't make a difference. It's better to play against 11 men and it made it a better game. It's their day today."

How many times have keepers been sent off when a striker has poked the ball towards the corner flag before being fouled? Poll's argument simply doesn't hold any water. Vidic wasn't sent off because it was early in the game, simple as that.

Going back to the Ramsey incident. I am an arsenal fan and in my opinion i disagree with Wenger. How can he say that teams are more physical towards Arsenal? its the fact that we have a quick pace of football and therefore sometimes challanges are late. However i feel sorry for Shawcross as he is a great player and i hope this doesn't effect either Ramsey's or Shawcross's career. It was a 50/50 challenge but Ramsey was quicker and unfortunately come off worse. it wasn't an aggressive tackle as he went in with laces and went for the ball. I think that The way Fabregas and Campbell acted towards Shawcross was wrong

Lets just hope Ramsey gets better soon.

Strictly speaking it wasn't 50/50 because the ball was actually closer to Shawcross when they both made their move, so Shawcross should have been the favourite to win it, but as you say Ramsey was quicker. The referee apparently admitted to Stoke players who asked him why he was sending Shawcross off that it wouldn't normally have been a red card, but he said in view of what happened to Ramsey he showed a red card because "I have to".

We've spent weeks debating how players should set a good example - does anyone else think it's time managers were called to account. Wenger and Ferguson immediately spring to mind but Benitez is getting as bad. If sam allardyce had torres and gerrard plus all the cash that Benitez has squandered on donkeys during his time at anfield would Blackburn be where they are or play the way they do - probably not cos the last time they had a load of cash to spend then they actually won the premier league rafa. Instead of getting the occasional touchline ban these three idiots in particular should be banned from their clubs for however many weeks every time they come out with something which questions other professionals in the game. Not only are they bringing the game into disrepute they are embarrasing their clubs.
