RE: Football League: Who's going to get promotion this season? - aaron - 26-09-2010 12:21 I thought I'd mention here that Portsmouth have now won a game! Just when all hope was slipping away.... RE: Football League: Who's going to get promotion this season? - Regenerated - 27-09-2010 00:26 I think Cardiff and Queens Park Rangers for the two automatic places in the championship. Cardiff have been knocking on the door for so long, and have had so many misses (including another collapse last season) that its got to be their time now. QPR have been out of the premier league for what seems like ages, but look to have the consistency and the quality to return to the big time. For the playoffs, I suppose it will be the usual suspects of Notts Forest, Reading, Swansea and possibly Ipswich. Middlesbrough have not adapted well to relegation from the premier league. It would be great to see a smaller club like Doncaster reach the playoffs. RE: Football League: Who's going to get promotion this season? - aaron - 27-10-2010 09:15 Whew! Portsmouth manage to stave off liquidation, just when time was close to running out. ![]() RE: Football League: Who's going to get promotion this season? - mitchell - 27-10-2010 12:11 Pompy have got a good set of fans aaron & don't deserve to have their team go out of business. Like Stoke i used to like watching them on Sky when they were in the Premier League as Fratton Park always had a great atmosphere & i liked the fact they gave Thierry Henry a standing ovation after his performance a few years ago. I think they are in with a good chance of coming back up this season in what is probably the tightest division in Europe. So much for my bet on Middlesbrough getting automatic promotion. RE: Football League: Who's going to get promotion this season? - Regenerated - 27-10-2010 12:14 Maybe some Portsmouth fans can create a consortium to rebuild their club again. A bit like Telford United fans creating AFC Telford and Wimbledon fans creating MK Dons. Shame to see any football club go under. ![]() RE: Football League: Who's going to get promotion this season? - mitchell - 27-10-2010 13:17 Pompy haven't been liquidated they reached an agreement with Sacha Gaydamak & Balram Chainrai has now got control of the club & they are no longer in administration. Thanks for your kind words mitchell. ![]() RE: Football League: Who's going to get promotion this season? - William H Bonney - 01-11-2010 20:44 Despite the financial troubles and a very poor start in the league, Portsmouth seem to be doing very well lately. You wouldn't have thought it a month ago, but they are only a point outside the play off places. RE: Football League: Who's going to get promotion this season? - aaron - 14-12-2010 13:52 We've slipped back a little recently, but had an excellent win at the weekend and are currently 12th, 5 pts outside the top 6. It's amazing to be in such a decent position, considering that we really feared a relegation battle. RE: Football League: Who's going to get promotion this season? - Livesey - 04-04-2011 20:01 QPR as Champions Norwich in Second place A whole host of teams in the play offs teams in mid table still have a chance but I hae a sneaky feeling Reading might do it My own team Burnley sadly might just fall short I hope Im wrong but we are hitting bad form at the wrong time |
