Ofcom would be beside themselves, so would radio one and the even more mainstream commercial radio stations would all be in a and e. Get it up on itunes, start a facebook page, get someone on here to make you a video (let's face it there's plenty to work with) you could even do a 'clean' and 'harder' version depending, post it on youtube.... There's nothing to stop any of the channels mentioned plugging it. If you think I'm singing that on the telly, you're even madder than I was when I spent half of Sunday writing it! Thanks for the comments though. It's great that someone would even contemplate the track having any commercial success. Being a bit more profound about things though, I think my reluctance to go further than merely posting the track shows the guts these girls have in doing what they do. Here's me, nameless, hiding behind a PC, almost deciding against putting the track on the forum at all, and closed beyond all persuasion to the idea of entering it into any commercial arena (I even put on a dodgy US accent as a disguise, which, as Jam Da Man observes, does make the lyrics unclear). And then there are the girls, on TV, in the most intimate circumstances, dealing with whatever consequences that may hold for them in their lives offscreen. I mean, I'm sure they have a very different character from mine and I know some people enjoy doing daring stuff in the limelight, but it does make you think. In general, us fans of the shows don't identify ourselves. This is particularly apparent in complaint-themed posts where viewers refuse to pursue redress because they fear the social consequences. I definitely don't want to start a new debate about complaints, but it is a good way to illustrate the stigma attached to the industry, and what impact that might have on some of the girls' lives. I think almost of us on this forum recognise the girls as stars, but some of the world has a very different view of what they do, even if that view is artificial, and hiding a genuine view which is probably similar to ours. Of course, m100, I can see that's exactly what you're getting at, and in an ideal world I'd love to see the scenario you describe come to fruition. But I don't have the guts the girls have got - nowhere near. Very greatest respect to them all. RE: Song About Babe Shows - Download. - m100 - 30-09-2010 21:06 You're right that's exactly what I was getting at (aside from the odd sarcastic comment covering about three different threads in one go I think). As for your comments about the girls that's why you'll never read me having a go at any of them. I don't think it's just what they have to put up with off screen either though I think some of what they put up with on screen is bad enough. A case in point being last night - i don't know the full story so no one ask. I rang one channel and went into the queue just as the girl on screen was telling whoever puts the calls through "not to put him through again, I feel sick now" god knows what the bloke had been saying to her. Sounds harsh, whatever happened or was said. I wholeheartedly agree with what you've both said; I can only add that I'm a regular patron of a lap-dance club and, being on friendly terms with a number of the dancers, can confirm the girls there have to put up with some complete crap from (a surprising number of) guys who go in there and maybe aren't as familiar with the establishment's etiquette as perhaps I myself am. This, sadly, would seem to be the norm for female adult entertainment industry workers. Even so, these girls keep what they do within the club and don't advertise the fact within the 'public' domain. The babeshow girls don't even get the anonymity factor that club workers benefit from - whilst still fielding relentless base filth from us viewers and callers all night every night - and that definitely earns them my admiration. That they do it at all is amazing and I thank them. RE: Song About Babe Shows - Download. - Light Entertainment - 31-12-2010 17:39 Too much spare time on my hands this Xmas, and as ever I can't get my mind off TV babes. This of course can only mean one thing - a new babeshow song. I thought I'd take it a bit more seriously this time, make a better job of the production, drop the dodgy accent, put on a two-tone suit and a pork pie hat - that sort of thing... The result is More Rock Chick than a Rock Chick - a reference to the way the babeshow girls have in many ways taken the place of 'real' rock chicks, who these days so often lose their cred and cult appeal to the global hit-making machine. The babeshow girls of today are disparaged by the same sections of society who once disparaged rock chicks (but who since seem to have accepted them), and whilst observing this, the song dissects the groundlessness of all the fake disgust night show babes seem to evoke. Maybe in time to come night show babes will be as broadly accepted as rock chicks in the world of entertainment? That said though, would they still be as cool if they were? More Rock Chick than a Rock Chick download – mp3 file, 5.5MB MORE ROCK CHICK THAN A ROCK CHICK – lyrics She brightens up this world, what makes you so apprehensive? She's an ordinary girl, what is there to find offensive? You're beside yourself, shocked and appalled, but you can't put your finger on why You think the devil comes in the form of Freeview Channel 95 I wanna live a lie, but at least I can admit it Let the hypocrite deny. No one's icon is a critic CHORUS She's more rock chick than a rock chick on a billboard Cos a mainstream rock chick ain't a rock chick no more You say she doesn't count as artistic entertainment And you're backed up by three forms of intellectual attainment But who's gonna pay one fifty a minute for a piece of the crap you talk? You're always handy with a sentence but you've never learned to walk the walk You're the great unknown, passing negative reaction You're just like a Rolling Stone - you can't get no satisfaction But outside Tunbridge Wells, where 'Disgusted' is complaining That he doesn't want the sun - just a channel where it's raining We're fed up with reality, bored with formality, just want a bit of fun What could be better than to see some interactive morals come undone? Nothing you can do, stops me wanting virtual kisses You wish she was more taboo. I just wish she was my missus RE: Song About Babe Shows - Download. - TheWatcher - 03-01-2011 18:06 The other day, I was playing one of my cds that I bought myself for xmas. It was the self titled "Grinderman" (Nick Cave's new group) Nick was singing "I've got the no pussy blues". Highly appropriate for the Babeshows following the recent ofcom crackdown. Just did a google search for the song, and found this RE: Song About Babe Shows - Download. - Light Entertainment - 22-04-2011 14:27 Been searching for something that little bit more sophisticated this holiday?... Look no further. I SHAGGED MY TELEVISION I shagged my television, guys, I shagged my television, The babe onscreen was double keen and in the right position, I found a hole for my long, long pole, and made a snap decision, Then I dropped my yellow boxers and I shagged my television. My balls kept pressing buttons as they slapped against the set, They found a channel I could never previously get, The volume raised to deafening, the table top was spinning, Why don't I get a reaction like that when doing it with women? The babe was now stark naked so I gave the show a call, I pounded my TV so hard it went right through the wall, My neighbours looked disgusted, they've been turning to religion, I pulled out for the money shot. I shagged my television. I Shagged My Television (click to stream the song) I Shagged My Television (mp3 download) |
