It sounds like its overheating,
Make sure the fan is working properly.

normally if a pc overheats it will do 1 of 2 things.
1) throttle the cpu till the temps drop.
2) switch itself off but wont turn on again for about half an hour.
gaz's symptoms are the system randomly reboots or turns off.
