That was a good one, I just googled it for a refresher, that was the one where Eddie (R.I.P) won the belt.

I am a big fan of tna these days. I do watch every smackdown and raw episode, but i wonder why i bother half the time. Some of the wrestlers the WWE have are brilliant wrestlers like, regal, kofi, punk, rey, morrison, swagger, hhh, kozlov, etc. But they aren't wrestling half the time, they are just doing hold after hold, until the crowd gets bored then end the match. Tbh as much as I love tna they are going down the same route. The last year in tna wasnt as good as 2007. Some of the wrestling then was insane, these days they have slowed the matches down like the wwe, but still manage to pull off a better match. Vince's ego is too big, thats why the wwe wont change Sad It's a shame really. I would love there to be a uk based tna style company, that travels around the uk and is worth watching. If anyone knows of any i'd be really grateful Smile

Speaking of TNA...

I just got some tickets for the "Maximum iMPACT! Tour" later this month in Wembley, should be fun. Tickets weren't too bad, although, the seats are absolute shite!! They came a day and a half after ordering them though, so thats pretty solid. Very much looking forward to it, as it'll be the first time I get to see some of the non-former WWE wrestlers, like Joe, AJ, etc, Live Smile

And with the recent storylines in TNA actually being watchable, should make the whole night even more fun, cos I won't be skipping off trying to watch the babe channels while it's on, HA!

Yeah, I agree, it doesn't seem to be so daft this year. Was thinking about getting tickets, but its too far away. So i will have to take days off work, catch a train/drive pay for the tickets, and a hotel...Too much money for me, as i'm poorness Sad One thing im definately saving up for though, is wm26.

RE: wrestling - A Spider Monkey - 10-01-2009 19:41

I usually watch Raw and Smackdown, but have started missing them since Sky decided they would'nt let you series link them on sky+. Most of the time I just fast forward it all the way through as I get bored of it after about 10 minutes so I end up watching the first 10 minutes and the last 10 minutes. I can barely watch Smackdown anymore as Vickie Guererro is just terrible at everything she tries to do.

Not really seen that much of TNA, watch it the odd time when I see it on the programme guide. It seems pretty good and I have seen a few good matches on it. Have noticed they have started advertising for their live events during pretty much every WWE break.

never realised she was eddies widow. shows vinces guilt over his death in that she is working on his shows now. when i say guilt i mean lawsuit

RE: wrestling - jungleboy - 10-01-2009 19:59

Spider i've got all mine on series record thats a bit random. But mine have been on it since 06. I have noticed that series link is playing up lately. I hate sky so much now. I wish there was something out there that was worthy of challenging them, as i would move so bloody fast. Im paying 47 bucks a month on my package and its just shiite...

RE: wrestling - THE INCREDIBLE BULK - 10-01-2009 20:02

There was never any lawsuit over Eddie's death. Because it wasn't actually the WWE's fault. From what I've heard in the months leading up to Eddie's death, there were signs that his health was getting worse, and after tests on his body, nothing showed up. I guess heart disease is something thats difficult to find in an examination on a living person, and was all down to the wear and tear of overworking his body, and his past with booze and drugs. At the end of the day, it's just one of those sad things, Eddie overcame his demons, but in the end, they came back to get him.

And to be fair to Vickie, she does a tremendous job getting heat on SmackDown, which is the whole point of her character. She plays the part well, and that is why she has been General Manager for as long as she was. Initial plans were for her to only be General Manager for a short while, before Teddy Long would again take over, but clearly that hasn't happened, and won't anytime soon.

As far as going to WrestleMania, it's definately something I'd recommend, having been to one myself in the past. I went to WrestleMania XX in NYC in 2004, and it was an amazing experience. As great as every other show I've been to was, nothing else lives up to the experience of being at WrestleMania, and hopefully I'll get to go to one again soon. Really, they need to stop discussing the idea of having one in Europe, and actually just do it, so I can go and not be so damn far away from home!

RE: wrestling - firekind - 10-01-2009 20:14

eddie died because of the drugs he took. more wrestlers will die because they have to use roids, painkillers and other substances. wrestling as it is would be very different with much more normal sized guys if drugs were totally banned.

If this were a wrestling show, you would have just qualified yourself for the "YOU FUCKED UP!" chant, sir! Tongue
