RE: England Test Series 2011 - Boomerangutangangbang - 10-07-2011 08:56 England face a tougher test series against India. Will be hard to take 20 wickets against an aging batting line up,last chance to see Tendulkar,Dravid,Laxman & Sehwag in England. Our batsmen will have to play Zaheer Khan well.Don't seen any unforced changes,Bresnan will push Broad for the No. 8 slot.Lots of high scoring draws,1-0 either way. RE: England Test Series 2011 - iamthatjack - 16-07-2011 19:39 So the 4 test series with India starts on Thursday, pitting 2 form test teams against one another. Do England have the advantage as they are at home? Or will India's batsmen dominate? I think the battle will be between India's batting and England's bowling - that will be where the series is won and lost, as England's batting is far superior to India's bowling. (though I fucking hate a test series that has an even number of matches - stupid!) I predict a 2 -1 win for England. What does everyone think the series result will be? RE: England Test Series 2011 - TheWatcher - 16-07-2011 19:45 Nice to see Murdock shitting himself, since the bastard took live test cricket off freeview. ![]() RE: England Test Series 2011 - Boomerangutangangbang - 16-07-2011 21:25 The 1st Test at Lords will be the 2000th in the history of the game.Don't be surprised if the "little master" Sachin Tendulkar chooses this landmark Test Match to reach the milestone of 100 international centuries. RE: England Test Series 2011 - iamthatjack - 17-07-2011 14:03 Well England's squad was announced: Andrew Strauss (capt), Alastair Cook, Jonathan Trott, Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell, Eoin Morgan, Matt Prior (wk), Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann, Chris Tremlett, James Anderson, Tim Bresnan Shame that Finn had to miss out. Still completely unconvinced Broad should be in this squad, it seems he's one of those players who'll never get dropped, be it for the fact he is liked in the changing room or his past or even his Dad. I just don't think he deserves to be there, particulary over Finn and Shezhad. & I can also guarantee Bresnan misses out come Thursday RE: England Test Series 2011 - Boomerangutangangbang - 17-07-2011 22:43 No surprises with the Test squad, agree that Bresnan will miss out.Stats may not be every thing but Bresnan,Finn & Shazad all have better averages & strike rate in Tests than Broad. RE: England Test Series 2011 - lovebabes56 - 19-07-2011 23:20 I reckon either a 2-1 or 2-0 win for Englad. RE: England Test Series 2011 - bigguy01 - 20-07-2011 11:46 bresnan is not a test bowler, board needs to be replaced with finn or shazhad. board needs to start pitching the bowl nearer the batsmen not bowling bouncers, he is similar to anderson a swing bowler. tremlett and finn would be the "enforcers" with short nasty bouncers. its going to be a close series. RE: England Test Series 2011 - danifan - 25-07-2011 14:11 A really good First Test so far between England and India - Pietersen gets a double hundred ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Just a shame bottle job Bowden failed to give a straight forward lbw against the Little Master on the 5th afternoon. RE: England Test Series 2011 - iamthatjack - 25-07-2011 15:11 It has been a very good, competitive test match, with some high quality performances As you said, a great 200 for KP, good 100s by Dravid and Prior, and finally Broad bowls properly and he gets wickets! (it wasn't rocket science!) (though I am glad Tendulkar didn't get anywhere near that 100!) ![]() I am rather surprised by Strauss in this test though, 2 poor innings and 2 easy dropped catches...strange. Entertaining match bodes well for the series, hopefully today's won't end in a draw. |
