The Champions League T20 took place shortly before the series began and the Australians couldn't stay any longer because their own summer is starting with a home test against New Zealand, but arguably a 3rd test in South Africa could still have been squeezed in.

Currently watching the Boxing Day test and wickets are a tumbling. India went from 214/3 to 282 all out and now Australia are 40/4. Its dramatic stuff.

Here's an interesting stat. I'm not saying it proves anything, but in the calendar year 2011 Australia gave test debuts to 10 players. As a comparison England had no test debutants in 2011.

It proves Eng were more successful & had less injuries.Aus were looking for a spinner, but looks like they've found 2 or 3 pacemen

Although this thread was started because of a bad day in Australian cricket, it seems that in a short time Australia are already doing immensely better - or is it just India that are pathetic? I see for the second test in a row Australia have beaten India by an innings. India have responded by saying that when Australia come to India the result will be reversed as India can beat anyone at home.

They certainly travel poorly yet they also perform very well at home, having won nine, drawn six and only lost once in the last three years on home soil. This includes 4 wins and 2 draws in the six matches they've played at home in that time against Australia.

Another good day for Australia, yet another bad day for India. Australia finish on 335/3 with Ponting not out 137 and Clarke not out 140.
