England's lost 4 (now 5) wickets.
They look totally under prepared... Sad

England 192 all out, although for quite some time it looked as though it could have been worse. Prior is left on 70 not out with the next highest score being 34 from Swann. Saeed Ajmal finishes with 7-55, career best figures for him and he got 5 out lbw. There are 15 overs left today for Pakistan's reply.

Poor first day from England today. Still, we didn't have the best day ever in the 1st day at the Gabba last year and by the end of that test we were miles ahead of Australia, the same can easily still happen here. Still reckon we can win if we keep there lead below 100 say.

Ajmal bowled well, nothing of his really turned but he caused as some probelms with his simple line and length. Bell's only ball was near impossible straight off for anyone to play really.

Fingers crossed we can get back into the game tomorrow.

The man got 7 for 55 of 24 overs and he bowled 'well'? Give the man some credit, he destroyed that batting line up! He was on fire!

England were outplayed, on a batting track that teams should be scoring 400 or so on, but never judge a pitch until both teams have batted on it, but England have a lot of work to do, but if any team can hurl themselves back into this game, its England, and if any team can throw away such an advantageous position, its Pakistan!

England have screwed up big time, this was a par score 400/450 wicket. It's gonna be tough to save this test match.

I mean he bowled well, there will be better spells of bowling this year, I'm not downplaying the man's achievement on the first day. He is in form and was bowling just with 'Line and Length' in mind, he even said those exact words in interview after the close of play with Nasser Hussain.

Anyway, a decent fight back from England today. Getting those two wickets right before the close just made it about even but England will have to bat a whole lot better in the 2nd innings if they are to walk away with a win. Picking up wickets at the right time and keeping the Pakistan run rate down means to me we have had a decent day probably about even. Tomorrow bowling at their inexperienced wicketkeeper and the tail, England should hopefully fingers crossed take the last few wickets quickly and set about getting a 250 plus lead in the 2nd innings.

Ajmal is a chucker. His arm is bent more than 15 degrees at
the point of delivery. He'll get called for it by an Umpire at some point
and deservedly banned for life, unless he proves otherwise.

The ICC have apparently let it go with Haroon Lorgat saying it's perfectly okay.

Practically every offspinner throws their doosra.

RE: Pakistan v England 2012 - Charlemagne - 18-01-2012 19:34

Spinners have always got away with having a bent arm.

Muralitharan has been getting away with it for years... and when he got pulled up for it the umpire got the bollocking
