Theres rapidshare but like you said if this keeps up they'll all be gone.

I noticed earlier that many fileserve links I'd loaded into jdownloader were dead, whereas yesterday they were fine. Wupload seemed to kill off a huge amount of links in the weeks prior to MU being closed down. I noticed this post on one of the sites I use. How well informed the poster is I have no idea:

Quote:A Report from the Front Line

MegaUpload
Closed.

FileServe
Deleting multiple files. Closed affiliate program.

FileJungle
(Owned by FileServe) Deleting multiple files. Testing out blocking some USA IP addresses.

UploadStation
(Owned by FileServe) Deleting multiple files. Testing out blocking some USA IP addresses.

FileSonic
Sharing disabled. Closed affiliate program. Deleting files and accounts.

VideoBB
Closed affiliate program.

Uploaded.to
Banned USA IP addresses.

FilePost
Started suspending accounts with infringing material (doing what Hotfile did)

VideoZer
Closed affiliate program.

4shared
Deleting multiple files.

Wupload
Many accounts disabled.

East European & former Soviet Union countries based file sharing services are working as usual :-)

Hotfile.com still seems to be working at present. But for how long I wonder. Rolleyes

I think it's going to be a case of waiting a month, and the seeing who's left. I just hope it's not Oron. As I can't use that host.

I think this is just the start. If SOPA is passed, then things will really get bad then. Because Sky's video on demand, Bt vision & Loveitfilms watch online services will be deemed as illegal. And porn online will be wiped out.

There's been said so much about PIPA/SOPA but it seems that in the recent shitstorm and massive file hosting closing show we (Europeans) are forgeting about ACTA. I don't know about situation in other countries but here in Poland lots of government sites are being DDOS'ed.

Polish Internet went supernova when three days ago it was announced that our government was going to sign ACTA. First came the official statement from our President’s bureau, in which Poland was supposedly achieving great international success by catching up with the world standards of copyright protection. We were to sign ACTA on January 26.

This was registered by a few niche websites, and went for the most part unnoticed by the mass media. Bloggers and youtubers started to dig into the subject, research the legislation itself and post comments so that more people would get interested. We were caught totally off-guard, but luckily, the Internet stood up to the challenge: in the next 24 hours, literally hundreds of thousands of people started to speak out, write letters to our government, organize protests, record videos and hype the thing up.

I guess it's time to spam our senators and member of parliament emails boxes. I sure will.

Ps. I'm taking a vacation from posting any content until the situation will clarify.

I'm led to believe that wupload and filesonic are connected in some way, not sure if they have the same owners, or just share some servers or something.
Filesonic not so long ago jumped in with a company Vobile, that does filtering of online content. Seems they are using them to check and delete all the 'dodgy' content. It may well be that once that process is done, they will open up sharing again, with some kind of content filtering in place. Hard to see how they will survive otherwise, their business model has changed significantly overnight, and they have become just a personal backup place, more restrictive than even the likes of dropbox. Who is going to be paying for that service!

Hotfile started this kind of process a while ago, and effectively killed their business off. They were once up there alongside rapidshare as one of the top hosting services, but now it's hard to find anyone using them. Rapidshare are still an option for legitimate content, but they chop and change their policies so much, is it worth the risk. I lost all my content on rapidshare thanks to their policy changes, and it'll take a lot to convince me to go back again.

I've had premium for a month here and there on Oron, and it worked OK, but for free users, it is hopeless. Particularly here in UK, where many ISP's use blacklists to filter sites through their proxies, and Oron is one of the sites that regularly appears on those blacklists, resulting in the dreaded 'wait 2hrs for a download slot' message.

I just let my usenet account lapse after many years, wonder if I should get it back again Smile

As I understand it, none of our vids are pirated, as the channels allow us to produce and post them ... BUT, try arguing that with the filehosters. If they start content filtering, they may just delete your files - vids, tv recordings, must be pirated, take no chances, delete!

Yep, mine are the same. Even those I re-uploaded just a couple of days ago. Most have been labeled as copyright infringement, and have been made unavailable for download. Although the file itself is still in my account.

Multiupload, at present has disabled all uploads. So it's not accepting any new content. Most of the other hosts have followed suit.

I would seem the only thing we can post on this forum now is caps & comments. Rolleyes Video's it would seem are thing of the past. Sad
