RE: Watchmen - Timbo - 08-03-2009 22:51 I plan on going to see it on Tuesday and i've never herd of the books or comics so i don't no what to expect. RE: Watchmen - firekind - 08-03-2009 23:42 dont expect a typical superhero film. watchmen isnt batman RE: Watchmen - OliQueen - 08-03-2009 23:46 the comic is amazing from what my brother says compared to the film its a huge disappointment RE: Watchmen - EvilToaster - 09-03-2009 00:36 DanniPandemos Wrote:Watchmen is 2 hours, 43 minutes. Maybe you were watching something else? Totally agreed! Malin Akerman was stunning in this film Hope you don't mind me adding some pictures of my own And Sylar, I'd suggest you read the comic book, and give it another try. I'll admit, if I hadn't read the comic before I went in, I would have been totally lost. RE: Watchmen - DanniPandemos - 09-03-2009 07:29 People get awfully precious about the comic. For the most part, the film is as faithful a distillation as could be expected. Thanks for the extra pics, Evil Toaster. I'll try and add them to my Malin Akerman pager later RE: Watchmen - Sylar - 09-03-2009 13:33 shandyman Wrote:i think he might have counted the ads & trailers, which am sure doesn't count.... Haha true but its still 3hours of my life that I'm never getting back! Don't get me wrong it was no '28 Weeks Later' (the benchmark for shite!) but Watchmen dragged on for too long. The action scenes were decent, use of music was very clever but a plot that started very promisingly just drifted away into a nostalgic wonderland of far-fetched storylines and unappealing characters. The only superhero that had any charisma to him was the bloke who got thrown out of the window in the first five minutes of the film! I do agree about the girl though, she was fit!! RE: Watchmen - Timbo - 09-03-2009 19:23 Im not expecting alot just curious to see what it's like to be honest. RE: Watchmen - mas0887 - 11-03-2009 05:00 Finally saw it today and I thought it was very good, some minor changes did slightly irritate me and even though I didn't feel the need to change the ending of the Graphic Novel, I can see why they did, and it culminated to the same ending basically anyway. Rorschasch was the bollocks, the action was fucking brilliant and whoever it was that played Dr. Manhattan has got the most calming voice in the world. Honestly, I could just be told that my wife (if I was married) had been having an affair with a rugby team and he would just have to say one thing and I would be like a hippy in the 60's lol. It couldn't really win with me tbh, I am a bit pissed off that they missed out a lot of the stuff from the GN but also at the same time I think that there were too many flashbacks in the film and it made it feel kinda disjointed. It was the best that could of been hoped for though to be honest, a good mix of the story without having TOO much, a very solid 8.5/10, maybe 9. RE: Watchmen - Timbo - 11-03-2009 11:41 Watched it myself yesterday and thought it was really good, was on for bit long but wasnt so bad, i'll just have to read the book now. The actor playing Dr. Manhattan was a guy called Billy Crudup. RE: Watchmen - mas0887 - 11-03-2009 15:36 He should makes self help books, the guy could make millions, no fuck that, billions, it is the best voice ever haha. |
