RE: England V Australia 2013-14 Ashes - ODI & T20 Series - mickster - 11-07-2013 01:31 The wicket has been "doctored" to play like a 3rd day pitch .Bumble said it hadn't been watered for the previous 8days leading up .No wonder great chunks were coming out at bowlers delivery points .Obviously Captain Cook was told "if you win the toss ,bat first .We know the pitch is going to disintegrate from ball one " Why else would you choose to bat on a heavily overcast warm morning at a ground with a reputation for being the most conducive to swing bowling ?If this test match lasts longer than 3days and a session ,I'll be very surprised . RE: England V Australia 2013-14 Ashes - ODI & T20 Series - Boomerangutangangbang - 11-07-2013 12:18 5 wickets have fallen for 9 runs,England on top but Hughes will be dangerous with the number 11 Agar with nothing to lose.England must clean up the last wicket quickly to gain a substantial 1st innings lead. RE: England V Australia 2013-14 Ashes - ODI & T20 Series - Boomerangutangangbang - 11-07-2013 14:39 England still had a lead of98 when the 9th wicket fell.Australia now have a lead of 56.This is now the highest 10th wicket partnership in Test Match cricket as the stand has moved onto 154. RE: England V Australia 2013-14 Ashes - ODI & T20 Series - Rammyrascal - 11-07-2013 15:06 agar finally out for 98. australia all out for 280 and have a lead of 65. fantastic last wicket stand by aussies and what a batting performance by agar on his debut getting the highest ever score by a no 11 batsman RE: England V Australia 2013-14 Ashes - ODI & T20 Series - lancealot790 - 11-07-2013 15:47 Disgusting and shameful performance by the England bowlers RE: England V Australia 2013-14 Ashes - ODI & T20 Series - Boomerangutangangbang - 11-07-2013 19:26 England lose 2 wickets in 2 balls but recover from 11-2 to finish day 2 at 80-2 with a lead of 15.Cook & Pietersen dug in,scoring at less than 2 runs an over. RE: England V Australia 2013-14 Ashes - ODI & T20 Series - William H Bonney - 12-07-2013 11:08 The second day of this match saw 2 of the most shocking decisions by a replay umpire ever made. ![]() Good luck to Agar who played such a spirited innings, but he was very clearly out stumped when on 6. How the umpire couldn't see he was out is baffling. Then came Trott's dismissal, with the overturning of Alim Dar's assessment that Trott hit the ball and couldn't have been lbw. I'm all for DRS but it needs to be correctly applied and not be subject to the sort of 3rd umpire bungling as we have seen here. RE: England V Australia 2013-14 Ashes - ODI & T20 Series - Boomerangutangangbang - 12-07-2013 12:18 Soon after Pietrsen & Cook took the 3rd wicket partnership past the hundred mark they were both dismissed either side on the drinks break.Bell & Bairstow have a lot of work to do,with the score at 133-4 the lead stands at 68. RE: England V Australia 2013-14 Ashes - ODI & T20 Series - seth - 12-07-2013 13:37 England need a lead of 200. |
