Need to catch up on the show got the first two seasons on blu ray, so watched the first ep again loving the show.

The 3rd episode was much better I thought, up to a point.
There was a decent plot which was allowed to develop (yes the Mary thing was far-fetched, but no more so than the rest of it) and a worthy arch-villain opponent but the end was a complete cop-out. Holmes is supposed to win by using his intellect, not turn round and shoot him dead. Any fool could've done that.

Assuming he is dead, if course. Which he probably isn't bladewave

I saw an interview given by Moffat and Gatiss where they say the are stunned by the huge international success of 'Sherlock'. They concede that a large part of it's success is the massive (female) following it has in the USA.

The special will be shown at Christmas 2015 and the three new episodes will be broadcast in the autumn/winter 2016/17.

Hmmm... not sure what to make of this.

If it's a one-off, unrelated to the series, it could be good (I quite like period drama anyway) but I hope they're not going to try and link it to the series with some kind of daft time-travel/Watson-in-a-coma type storyline bladewave

RE: Sherlock - bigguy01 - 01-01-2016 22:36

they linked the Christmas special to the series leading into series 4 in 2017. a bit of mind bender towards the end.
