Has to be one of the most well respected English sports commentator this nation ever had & was much admired by everyone that knew him. The man was a legend to sports commentary.
My thoughts & respect go out to his family at this very sad time.

Will miss that smile and laugh on Question of Sport A true giant among legends of the commentary box with Ron Pickering. His gaffes are legendary - the Juarantorena one being a classic one in my memory. RIP David and thank you for what you have given us over the years We will not see or hear his like again.
I think it would be nice if a posthumous knighthood was given to him as it is one I think would be very well deserved and respected as a last act of recognition for his contribution to sport and broadcasting.
