It looks like the latest version of this ransomware is very sophisticated and will tailor the website according to your IP address, so if you're in London you get the Met, if you're in Cheshire you get your local force!

I've googled solutions and the easiest method seems to be to restore your PC to an earlier time, then run a full virus check. If you can't restore for any reason, there's a free programme which can get rid of the virus - Malwarebytes:

I've been using Malwarebytes for years and it's brilliant. Even if your PC is currently clean I'd suggest installing it anyway so that's it's ready in case you get infected in future.

Also got the same earlier this morning : supposedly Cheshire; totally different part of the country from me.

Got redirected while I was waiting for the Cali Garcia caps and vids thread to load.

Ran my AV but scans not found anything.

^^^Thanks Digital Dave just installed it.

I had the Dionne Mendez Storm Caps & Vids plus the Dionne Mendez RLC Night Caps & Vids open in separate browser windows so I thought it was one of these but at the time of the crash I was viewing the Jennifer Jade Studio 66 Caps & Vids.

Thank you for the link Digital Dave, as nothing was found when I ran my AV program.

The top left of the form says "SOCA". That no longer exists. It's now called the NCA.

So, fail.

Happened a few times with Firefox with me, just keep closing it was windows manager and eventually Firefox will say 'oops, this is embarrassing' at which point just unchecked the box. Then spy bot and other scans, or if your very nervous restore the image disc you made.

Completely agree about Malwarebytes - it's brilliant and updated every day.

I run it with Avira and haven't had a single problem in almost 3 years (touch wood).

Highly recommended.

Another is Microsoft Security Essentials, designed by Microsoft for Microsoft and completely free.
