I'm not sure how I missed this one but I did hear rumours online of a possible season 4 of True Detective, some time ago and by chance I found the trailer this morning. It has been out for a month or so but I'm hoping it'll be good! I was a massive fan of the 1st season - Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are just oustanding throughout this season, and the whole season is right up there with shows such as Mindhunter (imo).
The second season was a bit meh, but it did have some pretty good moments and the third season was an improvement and actually pretty good but still not a patch on the 1st season. So with season 4 due out sometime this year, I'm hopeful for another potentially good season. This one has a slightly different format to it, with two leading ladies as the main detectives (Jodie Foster and Kali Reis), and the setting is based in Alaska. The trailer looks pretty good imo - Apologies if someone has already posted this trailer, but I couldn't find it on the forum

I would still say season 1 is as good as any prog I have ever watched.
It's a masterpiece.

^^ Totally agree, I was about to post the same. What followed was ok but the quality really tailed off by season 3, just a hard act to follow in terms of script & especially the cast.

Agree.
I honestly think no script/story/actor could have followed it.
It changed TV, so many shows since then have been influenced by season 1.
It's perfect, I can't think of a single fault with it.
