Yes India eventually declare on 391/9 and there is no time for England to bat. I think the pitch was the real winner here, which looked more Indian than English.

Dark have my cricket dreams been of late its like were back in the late nineties and early 2000 again Batting collapses, poor bowling Defeats at will lol.
I wont blame the bowlers in the last game as the pitch was set up to last the distance and milk the punters dry.

Lets hope they put this bad year behind them and comeback strong.

England and India are both unchanged for the 2nd test at Lord's starting today, with England resisting the Kerrigan option. England won the toss and asked India to bat on a day which is expected to be the hottest day of the year in England, with tomorrow expected to be hotter still.

India are bowled out for 295 on the second morning after finishing the first day on 290/9. England make 22 in reply before Cook goes - his rotten run of form continues when he edges through to Dhoni for only 10. A loose nibble outside off stump. So many questions about his captaincy too.

At the close on the 2nd day England are 219/6 and we have a very finely balanced match, although the bookies strongly favour England.

It took a last wicket stand of 39 to push England into a first innings lead. Anderson made 19 and Plunkett was 55 not out as England made 319, a lead of 24. Ballance made 110 yesterday. There are still 68 overs to be bowled on the 3rd day, so plenty of time for either side to win this match.

Hooray for England's tail. Without them scoring all these runs during this current season the team would be in a far more perilous situation than they already are.

India started the 4th day on 169/4 and have now reached 303/7. They should be pleased with their progress today which has given them a lead of 279. If they add many more they will surely be favourites to win.

It has been suggested in some quarters that if Cook doesn't make a significant score in the second innings his tenure as England captain could be coming to an end.

India are all out for 342 which leaves England a target of 319 (in a minimum of 137 overs). The bookies are finding it difficult to say who's the favourite now, with Paddy Power offering evens on both England and India.
