It was politicians that destabalised these regions, and are still arming them. Now they dont want to know. Cameron and co dont do caring, and there is no money in it. Sight of a 3 year old kid laying dead on a beach has brought it home to everyone just how bad things are. I fear there will be lots more of these story's before there is any resolution to the problem. I see Nicola Sturgeon has spoken out against the way Cameron and co are treating this problem, pity more dont have the guts to change things.

the problem needs to be solved at source. anything else is like putting a plaster over a severed artery.

The Germans have encouraged thousands of immigrants because they need a young workforce. That plan has now gone tits up in a big way and they're expecting the rest of us to sort it out.

The photo of the young child was distressing, but would a photo of one of thousands of pensioners who die every winter in this country produce a similar reaction? Or how about the people who will suffer after yesterday's cut in the cancer drug budget?

The rich middle Eastern countries aren't exactly throwing their doors open to their neighbours either.

No the germans have done it out of kindness like they did in the 90's when they let in a lot more refugees from the balkans than the UK ever took. there has been migration from turkey because of Economics and workers but thats no different from the indian and pakistani's and people from the caribbean coming in the 50's and even the irish navvies to work on the canal's in the 1800's

Cameron has no ball's and no Brains. one he has no balls to take the morons on his backbenchs He has no brains because this crisis is the way to get the others to get what he wants in the re negoiation regards open borders policy. he has even merkel considering the need for tearing up shengen agreement. but flatly refusing to take our fair share means he will get us nowhere and proberly lost the referendum already

Even nigel farage has said we should be taking a lot more refugee's

The migrant crisis is a direct result of Blair and Bush,s catastrophic decision to invade Iraq and get rid of Saddam Hussein, the situation was made worse when Cameron assisted the Libyans in ousting Gaddafi. This led to the so called arab spring which totally destabilised the entire region and gave rise to islamic state. As such it is only right that Britain should take its fair share of asylum seekers, however many of the people we are seeing on our televisions are not genuine asylum seekers but economic migrants looking for a better life and we need to find a way differentiating between them.

I think this is a fair comment but now what this problem aint going away and fundamentally we wont be able to cure it at source as Hannahs pet said we been fucking up the middle east for a 1000 years so we have to have a cohesive and cordinated plan to deal with the influx in a proportionate manner otherwise there will be region wide civil unrest! Last time that happened the whole world got involved for 5 years!

Wouldn't you agree though the invasion of Iraq was necessary especially if you knew the stuff Saddam and his sons did to the Iraqi people. Rape, torture etc
