RE: England squad for Euro 2016 - Regenerated - 17-05-2016 12:22 Good comments about the midfield. There always seems to be a problem with midfielders and where to fit them in doesn't there, regardless of who the manager is. Sven always had a problem trying to get Gerrard and Lampard in the same team. Now Hodgson's got a probem trying to fit Rooney in with Alli, Kane and Vardy all way ahead of him on form. Rooney will probably still start, even if Hodgson has to accomodate him by putting him wide or something daft. Which will leave us with yet another problem on the wing. That dreaded left midfield side problem again... My first eleven against Russia based on that squad would be something like this I reckon: GK - Hart DF - Walker, Cahill, Smalling, Rose holding MF - Dier, Henderson attacking MF - Barkley, Alli, Milner FW - Kane/Vardy (either deserve a start) RE: England squad for Euro 2016 - William H Bonney - 17-05-2016 12:52 England friendlies before the Euros begin. 22 May: Turkey 27 May: Australia 2 June: Portugal The squad must be finalised before the Portugal match. RE: England squad for Euro 2016 - setter1000 - 17-05-2016 12:57 I know it will never happen but I would like to see us copy Barcelona. I would have Kane, Vardy and Rooney all starting with Ali in the Iniesta role. I would have Dier protecting the back four going side to side and have Henderson playing box to box. I think it's a given that Wiltshire will start if he gets match fit. RE: England squad for Euro 2016 - setter1000 - 17-05-2016 13:29 To be fair to him I think he is in shock that Noble and Carroll have been overlooked. RE: England squad for Euro 2016 - Charlemagne - 18-05-2016 10:46 Wayne Rooney says that he sees his future in midfield. So he may yet get a starting role in Roy's England team RE: England squad for Euro 2016 - Snooks - 18-05-2016 18:12 Here is me being slightly ambitious and playing 3 centre backs 3-4-1-2 Hart Stones CB Cahill CB Smalling CB Barkley LM Drinkwater CM Dier CM Milner RM Alli (Free role behind front 2) Vardy STR Kane STR Doh . If Rooney has to play then I would put him in the free role, drop Barkley and put Alli in the left midfield berth. RE: England squad for Euro 2016 - jimminybob - 18-05-2016 19:58 Hart Clyne Smalling Cahill Rose Dier Alli Wilshere Lallana Vardy Kane That's the way I'd be looking to start. Happy to replace Wilshere with Milner if he doesn't prove he's 100% match fit |
