I don't know if it's any good, but being named after infamous killers is kind of interesting. To try and excuse the name, I think it was first called the Burke & Hare when it was a pub, a long time before it became a lap dancing venue. Anyway, more to the point, I offer my humble opinion that you get prettier girls here than you see in the Western, so I personally would prefer it. Earlier in this thread Secret Agent mentioned Edinburgh's pubic triangle, an expression which refers to 3 clubs close to one another and indeed forming a triangle. The 3rd club is No1 Showbar Baby Dolls, the most pretentious of the 3, although I certainly wouldn't call it upmarket. RE: Edinburgh lap dancing - Rob169 - 13-09-2016 05:29 can't remember the name of it but if you google for them you can print off vouchers for some of them, or you used to be able to, there are a few clubs around the "pubic triangle" and a few more dotted around town just depends on what your taste is RE: Edinburgh lap dancing - Roger Patterson - 18-09-2016 00:03 Some years ago now I visited Edinburgh with some Rugby fans to watch England play at Murrayfield. After the match we visited the triangle that's been mentioned in this thread. As we approached we saw a large group who sounded as though they were Scotland rugby fans going into a place called Hooters, which I gather from this thread is now the No1 Showbar Baby Dolls, so thinking that place might be heaving we decided to try one of the other two. On the toss of a coin we went for the Western Bar and my overriding memory of it is how small the place was. The girls were OK and the cost was very reasonable, apparently cheaper than the other two, but I really wouldn't recommend the Western Bar to anyone who suffers from claustrophobia. RE: Edinburgh lap dancing - MacDanett - 30-09-2016 13:58 I confirm that the club now known as No1 Showbar Baby Dolls was formerly called Hooters. The name was changed at least 5 years ago, although some people still refer to it as Hooters even now. The name change may be something to do with the US restaurant chain called Hooters, as they were threatening the club with legal action for using their name ever since it first opened in 2002. The club always maintained the threats were baseless though and they didn't believe that Hooters in the US had a valid case, so the name change may have been for different reasons entirely. RE: Edinburgh lap dancing - Nadam - 15-03-2017 20:15 Hi Got a stag do in Edinburgh in a couple of weeks. Does anyone know if the above still applies? Are these places still open? Still same class of babes? Any new places to try? Any advice would be great thanks. RE: Edinburgh lap dancing - shaun blue - 01-04-2022 16:06 Disgraceful. Edinburgh Council have voted to ban lap dancing clubs. It must be like living under the Taliban for people there. The 3 clubs referenced in this thread will have to close along with 1 other. They have said they will take legal action, but whether that will achieve anything is hard to say. RE: Edinburgh lap dancing - MacDanett - 04-04-2022 16:04 What a joke. A Tory councillor by the name of Cameron Rose was the main person behind this. He’s anti-gay rights, anti-abortion, anti-adult industry, it's hardly a surprise he led the arguments here. It remains to be seen whether anything can be done about this. RE: Edinburgh lap dancing - Rammyrascal - 04-04-2022 16:37 (04-04-2022 16:04 )MacDanett Wrote: What a joke. Evangelical Christian fundamentalists like Cameron Rose have been behind a global "war on porn" attempting to ban the legal adult industry which includes porn industry as well as lapdancing clubs. The organisation/trade union representing the Edinburgh lap dancing clubs is taking Edinburgh Council to court and is requesting a Judicial review on this as it breaks the equality act on the grounds of sexual discrimination. Hopefully this Judicial review will be successful before this ban/nil cap comes into force on April 1 next year |
