Lunch on the 4th day and India are 411/6. A hard fought session this morning, some credit to both sides.

What an excellent effort from Cook and Hameed in that evening session after England bowled India out for 488. Saw it out really very effectively in the end. I was on tenterhooks watching it unfold but fair play. They did very well on a wearing pitch.
Gradually steering England towards safety.

England declared their second innings on 260/3 (with Cook making 130) and that left India a target of 310 in a minimum of 49 overs.

A very creditable draw in the end for England.
Had India 6 wickets down at stumps on the final day.
The bowling and batting units did a fine job.

A very encouraging performance by England, although tougher challenges may lie ahead. Pitches will surely turn more than this one and England won't always win the toss. Still it was a greatly improved showing on the last test against Bangladesh.

It's the second test and England have Anderson back in place of Woakes. India won the toss and will bat - not a tough decision.

India put on a century partnership for the 3rd wicket, after being 22/2, and both batsman have passed 50. Everyone is saying the pitch is going to turn after the first couple of days, so India getting some runs on the board just now could put them in a very good position.

India close the day on 317/4. Anderson took 3 wickets, despite this being his first game since August, but if the predictions about the pitch crumbling turn out to be true then for India it was a very good first day.
