RE: Star Trek Greatest Moments - southsidestu - 23-09-2019 20:29 One I always remember as a child, the battle with the Klingons that lead to the destruction of The Enterprise D in Star Trek Generations. The bridge exploding left right and centre, people being thrown about the place (one guy gets sent from science station 2 at the back over the tactical console and Captains chair). The fact that even though it's a battle they still make it nerdy by defeating them by using an ionic pulse to affect the defective plasma coil & trigger the cloaking device, dropping their shields. The destruction of the Bird of Prey which was the same sequence used to show the destruction of General Chang's Bird of Prey in Undiscovered Country (again even though it was a battle they still made it nerdy by modifying a torpedo to home in on the plasma emitted by the Bird of Prey). The damage to The Enterprise resulting in a warp core breach (every time Geordie says coolant leak you know we are fucked), the evacuation & separation of the saucer section moments before the core breaches and the drive section is destroyed, Troi at the helm, Data says "oh shit" and the saucer crash lands on Viridian III covering a fair amount of terrain before coming to a complete stop |
