And when he says London is open for business he is talking bollocks

He is only doing it because he wants to look good in front of the corbynistas at the Labour Party Conference where he was being snubbed a couple of days ago

And it will force people back into mini cabs who's reputation for Sexual assaults could be said is worse than UBER Drivers

already on benefits..uber just tops them upImportantImportantImportant

They interviewed a guy who, after expenses, was taking home £5 per hour. He was upset at potentially losing his job BUT I just thought he could get more on the dole so why bother

Do you really believe taxi drivers take home £5 per hour? through the books maybe but cash in hand jobs pay a whole lot more plus there are tax credits to be had, its more like £50 quid an hour.

Rep from Uber on Breakfast now

This is a classic left wing, anti-competition, Closed Shop protection operation carried out by Khan and the LTA, under the convenient fig leaf of "passenger protection" and "compliance" issues. I hope there's not been any corruption involved in the decision - I am sure no-one in the Mayor's office or TFL would be corruptible by vested interests...

A sledgehammer to crack a nut. It is not as if LTA drivers are exactly saints is it?

They could have easily made Uber more compliant using fines and such like.

Uber will carry on their service, while they appeal and win in the courts.

You can be sure when UBER is gone then the rest of the Unions that TFL deal with will suddenly ask for excessive pay deals and perks and strike that way they can bring the whole of london to there knees

Basic comment seems to be "who will pick me when I'm so pissed I cant stand" whilst failing to note one of the key reasons TFL are withdrawing the license is because of Uber's failure to do criminal records checks to make sure they're not hopping in a car with a rapist.

Couldn't make this up if you triedRolleyes

It's not just that, they are a total rip off to the drivers and punters alike, like upscaling charges at busy periods, and non compliance with PCO regs. they should never have been licenced in the first place..

Good riddance, thieving wankers..

You mean like when Boris Johnson was all set to go after them until Cameron & Osborne bent his ear on behalf of their friends at Uber? Rolleyes

...and you can bet that Lyft are waiting in the wings.

RE: Uber - HannahsPet - 24-09-2017 08:06

Lyft are not in the UK be good if they were

But apparently they are in talks with TFL so maybe they could replace UBER

A solution is needed because will be a huge backlash if there isnt a good replacement other than Black Cabs
