i remember my first time on the internet, I was installing France 98 and wanted to register it. I used both AOL and Freeserve and I felt neither really delivered on the speeds. I gave up after a year, and spent many years using the internet in cafes that had it, and the local library. I came back on with a home internet connection, in around 2005 - 06 with first Virgin ,and then BT and then back to Virgin again and now on TalkTalk. I remember Lycos I think it was one of the best search engines of the time.
