Yea am a key worker so at work 5 days per week minimum, but yes gonna have:

The best kept garden ever here since we moved in
Be even fitter than usual
Learned to make bread and without yeast lol
Sawn lots of logs for the fire
Learned to waste not - want not
Cleaned out the workspace in the garage and set up vices and Organised and sharpened all the tools - suddenly I am a handyman after hardly changing a light bulb for decades!
Edited to add: watched every Pamela Anderson video on you tube there is!!!

Having said all that I can tell the honeymoon is coming to an end as the novelty begins to wear off. Slightly irritable today, cold north easterly wind after days of glorious spring weather does not help...\

As Shandy has alluded to, there will be a lot of good to come out of the unfolding tragedy. Hopefully we will be less materialistic, healthier and take less for granted as a society. The “what we worry about“ barometer will be reset now we have had something proper to threaten us for the first time in several decades.

I will know where I am with work by Tuesday. I would work in another store, but I think to be honest, it is better that space I would tske up on the bus travelling can enable one more NHS key worker help deal with the virus. I'd rather stay healthy and be prepared to re - set up the store where I work as and when we are allowed to re -open.

Pissed off to be honest that a lot of people seem to just be on a paid holiday, and are spending all their time just panic buying all the basic groceries out of the shops into the bargain.

Not classed as a key worker or in an essential service; but nevertheless we're just being expected to work from home 100% of our normal shifts as usual.
Using our own computers and phones etc of course Rolleyes
So stuck with a small laptop screen trying to juggle multiple applications and software over a remote desktop connection. Tedious.

It's fine for management types who don't seem to be expected to have to produce anything of use: they're just calling us into constant video chats and meetings to give themselves the illusion of being busy and justifying their existence; constantlly interrupting those of us who are actually expected to keep on producing the documents and information etc that is the main purpose of the business.

And of course just the cumbersomeness of communication over the internet for absolutely everything just means every task takes twice as long as it would if you could just discuss things face to face - supervising and checking the work of others is time consuming in this manner; dealing with external consultants even more so. Some of these who were hard to get hold of at the best of times now have a perfect excuse to be even more unreachable.

How long this can keep going I don't know. We are associated with construction, and of course work on sites has been shutdown. At the moment there's plenty on the books in terms of work at the front-end of projects before they are site ready, but at some point that is surely going to dry up if this ends up being as protracted as it looks like being.

Smile So it could be worse. No immediate money worries yet, no symptoms, but a bit of inconvenience in getting basic provisions.
EDIT : I suppose should have also noted I live alone and am anti-social at the best of times so staying inside and not seeing anybody isn't really a problem. And at least I have no children under my feet. Big Laugh

^^^ Geez, that is an eerily exact description of my life at the moment!

If this goes on much longer and I start having existential thoughts in my darker moments, I may come to believe that I am M-L-L Huh

I found nyself contributing to a spam thread last night and what's more I was having a fine old time.

Is anyone interested in doing a sweepstake on who'll be the first person to tearfully plead with skully to unlock the A-Z's?

Shouldn't there be an option for us key workers keeping the country going not enjoying a extra holiday like some by the looks of that vote
