Did I get ridiculously drunk & behave disgracefully, 
I can't remember for the life of me. Must have been some night as you didn't even hold a party the following year.
Broken furniture & a complete redecorating job,
that's why I don't bother with such events, it's the aftermath.

My main excuse for not compiling a list is for fear of offending those I don't invite. I don't have a big enough house for more than a handful, & anyway it surely stops being a dinner party once you get beyond a dozen or so.It is good fun to imagine how it would all pan out. I wonder if we would all just text each other instead of speaking out of habit.
