^ And that it's going to be very sunny tomorrow.
Also the government needs to issue guidence regarding electric bikes and scooters.

What's the current law regarding both? Do you have to pass a normal driving test before you can use one? and as i understand it, they are not road worthy

After hearing something the other day regarding safe overtaking distances for motor vehicles passing cyclist is was suggesting 2 metres, however it would appear that no specific distance is stated by law. Clear as mud Important

A guy flew past me the other day on an electric scooter. The thing had a seat, and he had his young boy stood on the platform as well. Seemed like an accident waiting to happen.
I've yet to see one of those scooters, the electric ones particularly with that extra bit of speed, actually travel in a straight line for any distance, they seem to weave quite easily. That's OK on an empty road, but put them in traffic!

was riding behind a bloke the other day who was weaving & wobbling all over the road. I had to slow down a fair bit as it was a main road & I decided I would have to pull into the outside lane to get past safely. My initial thought was that he was drunk, but unlikely as it was early in the day. I decided it was more than likely a lack of coordination & balance. This hasn't been an isolated incident as many of those that have recently taken to cycling have been doing a good impression of a new-born lamb trying to walk. I would welcome a basic mandatory test before there's a spate of accidents. Some motorists & cyclists could also benefit from having a look the highway code.
