It was fun back in the day, but will that magic still be there is the question. I much prefer Ninja Warrior tbh, where it's contestant vs course.

The thing is that Gladiators is the original physical game show format (there is a great 5 part documentary on Netflix about the formation and history of the original American Gladiators by the way) that the likes of Ninja Warrior owes their existence to.

True, but Ninja Warrior is just a preference thing. Not every show works in reboot, hopefully it will, but it's not something I'm expecting to be as fun as it was.

I see that they have Mark Clattenburg on the show as the chief referee.

^ You can view it on catch up.

Just finished watching the first episode. It made me feel like a 7/8/9 year old boy again.

Last night’s episode of Gladiators got overnight TV viewing figures (yes, overnight viewing are increasingly irrelevant due to streaming) of 6 million, with a peak of 6.4 million and 38.2% of the available audience, absolutely huge numbers in this day and age.

Yes but there wasn't a babe as lovely as Jet, flicking her long black hair and playing her leg guitar.
They do have a new version of Wolf.
And you have to wonder why they have Bradley's little boy on the show.

On twitter someone mentioned that it would have been nice if they's acknowleged the life of Bernadette Hunt (Falcon).

I thought it was alright, it had a good mix of gladiators and it was cheesy but fun. Not must watch for me, but nothing wrong with it.
My only issue, aside for that one guy playing the villain but looking like a twat, was the names, those are some terrible gladiator names. lol.
