I grew up with the likes of Black Sabbath,Led Zeppelin,Deep Purple and jimi Hendrix so its perhaps not surprising that even now I love Rock,metal and Indie above all. I especially like Female Fronted Rock and metal like within Temptation,Delain, Lacuna Coil and Nightwish.
Dislikes? Well I loath and despise all the bland manufactured pop in the charts that passes for music.I feel sorry for kids these days who are force fed this dross,in my day we had much greater variety in music,but today it seems record companies are only interested in money and churning out the same fromula again and again.With the stranglehold they have on the mass media other forms of music are marginalised and have become minority interests.
Rap I don't really consider qualifies as music at all,just talking in a silly voice no-one can understand.

I also despise 99% of the music in the charts today. I find it to be dull, formulaic and soulless. Nothing irritates me more than people who only listen to the music that the mainstream media tell them to listen to.

I don't even know where to start with music. I absoltely love music, but I hate so much of it these days. I generally try and no listen to the radio these days, that way music in general is always more enjoyable.
I love indie, rock and accoustic types of music. I grew up thanks to my older brother listening to punk/ska as an influence. I then moved on to rave music, listening to hardcore, old skool, techno and drum and bass. I also listened to a lot of indie bands at this time, Pulp, Oasis, Blur, Stereophonics, Ocean Colour scene. etc
I then got into rock/metal and also live acoustic type music.
I like reggae, jazz, blues and also world music. SO much music. Not enough exposure for real raw talent.

I think chart music is getting lumped in with teenybopper pop and the likes of Katy Perry and Bieber. Pretty sure Adele, Coldplay, 30stm are all chart music.
If it sounds good to me than great. I like all kinds of music as well. From Amon Duul to Warren Zevon. However I'll kindly pass on Contemporary R&B, that teen shit mentioned earlier and Country(the twangy stereotypical "lets get drunk in our pickup" stuff)
