Babelover48 the Women's World Cup in Canada is being played on artificial surfaces. There is no chance the Men's World Cup would be played on anything but grass.

I think being a crook in FIFA with all the millions involved must have been the biggest party ever (until the arrests started).

Chuck Blazer's always been fond of a party, by all accounts. He certainly has an eye for the ladies. See him here with Miss USA Crystle Stewart (left) and Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza (right).

I Mo the FAI shouldn't have taken the money if they had known at the time what was going on.

And nothing was said at the time because the deal was confidential.

RE: FIFA - HannahsPet - 04-06-2015 20:00

to be honest i dont blame Irish FA for taking the money. they had really had no chance of getting the game overturned so they took the best decision for grass roots football in ireland

Also dont blame the South africans they were only doing what they thought was part of the deal in terms of using money to give to other federations for grass roots football in those countrys they were not to know that the money was being syphoned off they acted in good faith

RE: FIFA - lovebabes56 - 04-06-2015 20:57

The way this is going there is a danger the confederations will be fighting each other next which wouldn't be good

I half agree with this. As I said previously, I think the Blatter regime created such a cynical culture that any country who seriously wanted to get the World Cup would have felt obligated to throw some sweeteners around. Nobody blew the whistle until the indictments came down, so nobody -- with the possible exception of that dude from the Bahamas who refused his $40,000 "gift" -- can be held to a high standard.

BUT ... I don't believe for a second that the South Africans thought that that was anything other than a bribe. There would have been no need to make Jack Warner the "fiduciary" party, personally responsible for the money, unless they knew perfectly well that it was a bung.
