Hopefully so, she should have done the right thing and just fucked off, but it seems she wants to cling on as long as possible Rolleyes

The Appeal Court Judges rubbished her appeal - seems like she behaved like an amateur, representing herself without any notes and even asking the prosecuting lawyer to help her answer a question at one point.

The funny thing is Onasanya is a trained solicitor but couldn't see that if she just accepted culpability for the speeding fine it would have been a slap on the wrist,a fine possibly a Speed Awareness Course (& probably claim it all back on expenses) but she would still be an MP.But instead she tried to go the former Lib-Dem Chris Hune route by trying to get someone else to take the rap for it with photographic evidence & all that these days & it sure as hell didn't work out well for old Chris back then either (although he did receive a sentence nearly 3 times longer than Onasanya did).

It's up to the good people of Peterborough to rustle up 10% of the electorate to put & end to Onasanya's ride on the parliamentary gravy-train.What I'm unsure of is if over 10% vote for the removal of her as an MP passes the threshold & a by-election is triggered does Onasanya still have grounds to still represent the Labour Party (even if the party don't want her) or does she have to stand as Independent.Onasanya only just beat incumbent Tory MP Stewart Jackson by a few hundred votes in the last GE election in 2017.

^ The Labour Party will nominate someone else to be their candidate. They expelled her from the party when she was convicted so she sits as an Independent at present.

I think when they said they wanted a different kind of politics they meant they didn’t want liars and criminals. I appreciate that limits the numbers of existing MPs who could join them laugh

When May goes this summer, we could end up with a Boris v Jeremy contest. It's a chose of polar opposites in an election.

What other options have we in England. Liberals & Greens.

UKIP could rear it's head again or the Independants could form their own party.
But the party which has got the biggest unity are the Scottish Nationalists. Could they put up candidates in England. Wink
